Who, me subtle? Hardly.

I was actually remembering the poem...Kipling yes? I don't believe I was aware there was a song to that respect.

I'm a pathological editor. editrix? editress?

see I even edit Myself. It's a sickness. Truly.

Ma`am..... i am glad You edited Yourself, i refrained from doing so < grins impishly>

The line was used in a song called "Female of the Species"  recorded by a group called Space, on their album "Spiders" released in 1996.
The song was used in the film " Austin Powers: International man of mystery "  Which is where i remember it from, as it plays during the final credits.

Edits for spelling

How delightfully sweet politesub! I will be downloading that when I find it! Thank you, nice job.

I love the lyrics politesub. They gave me quite a laugh.

A thousand thundering thrills await me
Facing insurmountable odds gratefully
The female of the species is more deadly than the male
Shock shock horror horror
Shock shock horror
I'll shout myself hoarse for your supernatural force
The female of the species is more deadly than the male

Oh she deals in witchcraft
And one kiss and I'm zapped
Oh how can heaven hold a place for me
When a girl like you cast a spell on me
Oh how can heaven hold a place for me
When a girl like you cast a spell on me

Frankenstein and Dracula have nothing on you
Jekyll and Hyde join the back of the queue
The female of the species is more deadly than the male
Oh she wants to conquer the world completely
But there she'll conquer me discreetly
The female of the species is more deadly than the male

Oh she deals in witchcraft
And one kiss and I'm zapped
Oh how can heaven hold a place for me
When a girl like you has cast a spell on me
Oh how can heaven hold a place for me
When a girl like you has cast a spell on me

i like Ma'am and wife too,  or howabout   bride and Groome?   i know a guy whose wife goes by "Bosslady" . she's a supervisor at her work, but i definately see that it doesn't stop there. howabout the "Governor" and the fist man? (i mean first! edit, talk about a freudian slip!)  that's exactly the official term used in our state with a female Gov.

Ms Jo, i am glad to have been of service Ma`am. As much as i love Kiplings poem, the first three lines of the song resonate within me.

I agree it seems to be the most popular so far unless someone comes up with something better.

I do appreciate your finding the details. It had me awake for the few hours I had to sleep last night trying to think of the song. I'll sleep much better tonight due to your diligence. you're a treasure. I like the chorus quite a bit Myself.

Hehehe, that's why I keep a large supply of benadryl in the house - if I can't shut off on my own, it shuts me off.

I'm still thinking that we'll go with Mrs. and mr ... Neither Holly nor myself really want to change our last names, and we aren't interested in hyphenating (there are days when I have enough trouble with my rather short name ... make it any longer and I'll never get it right again LOL).

Of course, until we manage to get settled enough for Holly and rob to get married ... and find a male-wife for me ... it's all a rather moot point for us *sigh*

I'll just go by Maam.  Think of it.  Usualy, its MAN and wife.. so Maam and wife doesnt really sound too bad.

This goes back to my original plan, even when i was in the vanilla world, where I was going to get my Doctorate so I can be Doctor Vampire.  Then, even with a vanilla hubby, it would have been Doctor and Mister.  Hehe

Maam and wife is wonderful.  Another option on better half would simply be Better.

I think Ma'am and wife is it!  Unless someone else has any better ideas.
Thank you DV! Now we all need to just find our Ma'am's and wives.
The sooner the better.

Either that or I'll wake up in the middle of my few precious hours and remember something. Ugh.

I'm extremely intolerant and sensitive towards medications and can't stand to take so much as an aspirin if I can avoid doing so. The only time I've ever taken Nyquil I was out for over 24 hours. Whoooo.

Just a few more days of this insane coursework schedule and things will calm down a bit. Still won't be able to start looking for that elusive creature called a male wife until I'm through with the internship and boards but it's getting closer! Hang in there Karen.

Patience is a...vulture!

I agree. I'm adopting Ma'am and wife once I finally find a male wife. Sigh.

This may be slightly off the subject, but I've always thought of this concept as the perfect relationship for me.  My confusion stems from how women view it.  Do you really want a wife, or a man that supports you and still does all the wifely duties?  Case in point was a recent post here:  .   "Yes I intend to tell you what to do, have you work (full or part time), than come home to serve me like an adoring 50's housewife... ".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did many 1950's housewives work outside the home?  If you want to be the head of the household then you have to assume the resposibilities that entails.
