There is a line from the movie "The legend of Bagger Vance" which has always stuck with me.

I am not sure I want to be remembered.  I have to force myself to say "you are welcome" when students who tell me I changed their lives, thank me for doing so.

The part of respected or feared is that it puts other people in charge of my legacy.

I am doing what I feel has to be done from what I have seen.  I will go to my dirt sleep knowing I did what I had to do whether anybody else on the planet gives a good gawd damn about me or what I have done.

Respect.... I don't respect many people, at all. I do try to be respectful, though.
 
Fear... is useless to me, unless you're trying to harm me or that which I love.

Marina is in the movie as an extra.  I used to have a collection of screen shots of her and her performance.

...i can see what you mean, but i kinda stand by wanting to be remembered. Preferably for making the world a slightly better place. It probably is a form of vanity, but i figure everyone is allowed a modicum of that.......

Status: offline 		Hmm. Feared? I try to avoid situations in which I might be feared by someone, but admit sometimes it's necessary. Respected? I have that within me, and when you project that outwards towards someone else you usually get it back anyway. So I guess my first answer would be loved. However I would also settle for befriended and accepted.
