ORIGINAL: thompsonx popeye: Perhaps you might give us a site to substantiate your allegation, both that Clinton said it and that it was proved false. thompson not Popeye, but have google.....due to the trunicated <sp> thread a few days ago, ill just say its on this page......i cant do all the work after all[:)] http://www.amren.com/968issue/968issue.html SeeksOnlyOne: The link you provided is written by a priest trying to make a religious point about the secular world. It is on a website that is clearly ethnocentric. I could find no mention of the so Called Clinton statement or its refutation. If one is interested is justifying bigoted behavior this would seem to be the site to quote, albeit with the attendant lack of credibility. Some what like quoting the bible to prove the existence of god, or quoting the KKK to prove that whites are ethnically superior. Popeye's posts are filled with bigotry. Popeye constantly shoots from the lip and seldom can back up his bigoted statements with any sort of fact. My position is if you say something is fact then you should be willing to either put up or shut up. I for my part have managed to get both feet in my mouth on more than one occasion on these boards. When my errors in fact or interpretation were pointed out with substantiating data, I had no problem in apologizing for my ignorance. All I ask of others is that they be likewise. We are all human and as such are falable...what separates us is the ability to accept our foibles and learn from our mistakes. thompson Clinton never said it.If there was a tape,it would be out there, but it isn`t.It was is sourced to one of the Clinton haters, taking an out of context statement, and spinning it to try and make Clinton look bad. The folks who produce these myths, know that there`s an ilk of people who gobble this horse pucky up and ask for seconds. They have a target audience, and I think we`re hearing from some of them. There are folks who believe Clinton killed over a hundred people, and circulated the list of their names. The source of which never emerged. But that didn`t stop Sean Hanity from taking about it on Fox Noise Channel, and saying he believe Clinton killed those people. There`s a lot of easily duped people out there, who hear something and repeat it like it`s known fact. Ever hear the one about Al Gore claiming to have "invented the internet"?He never said that. But the right-wing/swift-boating/shameless liers, spun a statement he made about his roll in congress, and congress` roll in facilitating it`s development. You can google it all and read the debunking of the BS story. You`ll also get a ten minute education on who actually brought what we have now as the "Net",to be. Remember, the people who spin and push this crap, know that their target audience won`t or can`t check out the story on google ,or any other reality/actual fact based web site.Thank god regular folks can and do. As to what I would believe, if a right-winger said the sky is blue,...lol I would check for myself. If one told me the time of day,I`d check my watch. If one told me that a bill was called the "clear sky initiative",I`d know it was a law to allow more pollution.bush is an example of this shameless deception.Does anyone believe him anymore?Well,... a few do....2nds anyone? Peace PS, I don`t mean this towards anyone personally, but rather in general.
