Well, I for one, am quite willing to try to return to the thread topic.

I don't think anything productive is forthcoming on this one...

yeh i could have told you that befor you went off on this tangent

i lost track of who said what----

maybe thats how war gets started.

no wait.

war is peace. orwell-1984.

LOL,you are precious! And w/ the Orwell reference<still laughing>.(BTW,republicans have no idea that we`re referring to them, when we make Orwell references, shhhh, keep it a secrete).

The thread  was about hate and hate crimes, until the gun lovers started making love,....... w/ their "guns",ha-ha.

~~"this is my rifle ,this is my gun(points to dick),this one`s for fighting,this one`s for fun"(points to dick again)~~

Peace

"Bullet thingies", "Clips".
Gee, I love all that technical talk!

I have a Sig-Sauer P-226 9mm too.
Great handgun!
Very accurate and very easy to field strip and clean.
I bought it back in 1986 for $440 I think.
It's probably worth quite a bit more now.

nice iron...

mine is a 1911 elite 10mil. 150pill at 1500
accuracy sucks for longer range target though and it will give you nice blisters after 150 - 200 rounds.

"Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and acclaim......." Playing the devil's advocate here.

Why is now everything a hate crime? (I don't need flames this is more to stimulate discussion than anything.) but you used to be able to kill homosexuals and no one said a word, now its a damn hate crime.

Why Because the Homosexuals decided it was, just as gay psychiatrists decided that homosexuality was not a mental illness so that they wouldn't be disbarred and locked up.

I rebuilt my classic 1967 Raleigh Fireball DTR.  Tricked it out.  Was offered quite a bit of money for it.

Gave it to my 8 year old.  He left it out in the rain.

So I get to rebuild my classic 1967 Raleigh Fireball DTR.

Yay.

Sinergy

p.s.  My father threw out the seat and replaced it with a knock-off.  I politely pointed out that an original seat in crappy condition could be made new again and be sold for thousands of dollars.  I pointed out that I guess I know how he felt when his mother threw out his collection of 1940s era comic books in their individual sleeves.

I live within walking distance of a bi guy was beaten to a coma. 6 months. today he can barely walk. the entire family particpated in the crime and or cover up. i know every one who is anyone/gay/bi- here- and if not 1 phone call and i can find out.

he is practically a vegatable right now. when the beating happened- i asked my buddy- do we know him? and we did not. as i say we know the entire crowd.

happily- the neighbors strongly condemmned ANY violance.

after- 1.5 years of this guys revovery- i met him. it really is sad.

be that as it may- the system meted out punishment. period. [irregardless -if PA has hate law on teh books]

if i could be candid- the guy- most likely touched- after being told "no".  [drunk]

even still- all parties could have waked away.

1 good punch should have been enuff. then STOP.

we have law and order in my neck of the woods- irregardless of ones walk of life. criminals pay- period. so things work here.

this is not the case in some parts of teh country tho...

...sometimes you read a post and just wonder.....what kind of mind produces it? What kind of mental landscape do they inhabit? Will they ever get the psychiatric help they so clearly need?

As I mentioned to popeye...that is why we hire cops.

I'm not sure why since there have been multiple court rulings similar to Warren v. District of Columbia, which states the following:

[It is a] fundamental principle of American law that a government and its agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any individual citizen.

The police have no duty to protect you or even respond to your 911 call in any timely manner, and they have the legal precedents to back that up.  It leaves the populace in a difficult position, and most of them are ignorant of that position.

~stef

stef:
The thread has taken several detours since this post but I wanted to revisit it because it begs the question:  If the police are not required by law or precedent to protect the citizens then what exactly is their job?
