LOL I've never understood people's issues with "closure"

Sure it's nice to get and all, but so what if you don't get it?   Life moves on.  *I* don't need closure.

But we're talking about a runaway slave, yes?  What do they need closure for?  They've run away and that pretty much says all that needs to be said- they no longer wish to be in that dynamic.  What they do next is up to them.

A slave doesn't need to ask or beg to be released.  A slave can merely walk away.  We are, after all, talking about consensual slavery, not forced.  She was only your property as long as that was what she wanted to be.  That was what she consented to.  Your ownership rights end when she walks out the door for the last time.  The fact that the slave "makes it clear that she is unwilling to continue the relationship" tells you all you need to know.  It's over for the slave and that means it's over for the relationship.  She then becomes your former slave or ex-slave, not your "runaway slave."  Time to look for a new slave and leave the past behind you.

If a slave 'quits' a Master (makes it clear that she is unwilling to continue the relationship) without asking or begging release, does that mean she is still owned property and thus a 'runaway slave'?  If he refuses to release her, does she remain his property?

Vindication of some degree usually enters into it.

At the Domipound I have taken every precaution possible to try to minimize the chance of a slave escaping....Mostly by providing love, a comfortable environment...But I gotta admit that the fourteen foot high barricade topped with barbed wire and surrounded by a moat teeming with sub eating ferrets...Are definitely a plus.....Still there have been occasions when I have been forced to...."Release the hounds!!!"

If that is the case then i'm the collared version of bigamous - I was in a relationship that went very wrong when I was 21, i ended up isolated and in a rather bad state then as things got worse, I stayed because he told me he would commit suicide if I didnt, then my father said to me, "If you stay this way next time I see you you'll be in a box" - I took a long hard look after that and walked away, not sure where he is now and neither do I care, closure or not that chapter of life is firmly over.
