post replies in the "Ask a submissive" forum?  I haven't been to the "Ask a Master" forum to be honest, but I'm going to guess that a lot of submissives answer questions there as well.  If someone wants to hear from both sides, it seems that they would post in the general forum or even cross post in both forums as I've seen mentioned if they want to truly separate the opinions.  Is the urge to be heard that desperate that people can't control themselves from answering questions not directed toward them?

Just curious.

Yep, your guess would be correct.

Actually, I personally find it quite irritating when people "cross post" and have read others saying the same.  There doesn't have to be a "separation" of opinions and frankly just seeking answers from one specific group may not get the best answers.  Why not be open to hearing from all sides?  You might learn something unexpected or see a different view of something you hadn't thought of before.

I really don't think that's it and some people are probably going to take that as a rude question.  People here usually read most of the forums and post on a variety of them.  I think it's a great thing and not indicative of "desperation" to be heard or some lack of "control."  Just my take on it............luci

You are not limited to which boards you can post on because of who you are, you are only limited to where you post by you. I have posted in the "Ask a Master" and "Ask a Mistress" as well as the Gorean Boards a few times, nbd. You post where you want. No 'force field' that keeps you from doing so. People post their questions, etc where they feel they are best addressed; by your 'rule' then everything would be in the 'general' forum. Since tops and bottoms post can help eachother out, despite their differences.

When you post a question you do NOT get to decide who gets to reply or not to your post; you do get to choose who you READ posts from. If you don't want to read a top's answer on this board, then don't. Its very simple and straight forward.

That is VERY rude and disrespectfull to everyone on the boards.

People post where they feel they can help out, others post nonsence [as in they post something that has nothing to do with the topic being discussed or relivant] because thats who they are.

If you post the same question in more than one forum there is a good chance the mods will delete all but one of the threads.  I think if you have something to contribute you can post in any forum.  Occassionally the OP will state who he/she wants to reply.

I post on both boards because I have a Dominant profile on CollarMe because I am in the market for submissives, but I am a sexual submissive to my Master/husband (so I'm not looking for a Dominant) - and that also entitles me to post in the Switch forum, hehehe, and I sometimes sneak into the Masters Forum, just because...

Because their input is valued? At least I value it. People posting in a forum shows the answers they are most interested in (ie. most interested in the answers of submissives) however you can sometimes get an unexpected nugget of critical information from those you didn't expect.

I, personally, am all in favor of people posting where they think their information could be useful. I post in the Ask a Master forum, occasionally in Ask a Mistress and once in the Gorean forum. Unexpected and outside views can bring about enlightenment.

Thanks for your opinion, I disagree.  It was just a question of speculation.  If the answer is no, the answer is no :)

I post where I want when I want if I have something to say.  Don't tend to live my life too bound by others' rules except in those places where it makes most sense to me to do so.  Now site rules are one thing, some individual's rules is another thing completely.

Honestly, no offense to the fine FemDoms of collarme, but the topics on the other boards are often more interesting to me. I hope no one takes away my card for that.

Why should someones personal relationship orientation have anything to do with what discussions they can enter into?

I appreciate someone starting a thread in the appropriately focused forum, but the discussions from then on are open wide for all.  Go where you want, don't go where you don't want.

Because I don't actually know/care which section a subject is posted in. I'm subscribed to both sections, so CM sends me an email when new topics are posted, and I just glance at the subject. I click on the ones that sound interesting and reply to the ones I feel I have input on. Like this one.

Many of the questions on the forums are 'people' questions despite being posted on a particular forum and we all qualify as people. As others have mentioned, the forum headings may give a general indication of the topics however everyone is welcome to post.  It can help to hear things from another person's perspective and if a person feels that they have something relevent (or not!) to post than I see nothing wrong with them posting.  I like to hear points of views and experiences from other people ...besides, I think the dominants need us s-types to bring them back to earth once in a while.....and vice versa

Yes, I'm desperate and can't control myself.

Everyone can contribute anywhere.  The more input offered, the better perspectives people can form.  The various forums are guidelines, but anyone can post to them, even the non desperate, controlled, folks.

Actually, i find that there are some subs/slaves whose Dom/me/Master/Sir/Daddy does not post on the boards, however they have intimate knowledge to how their Dom/me/Master/Sir/Daddy would react to the question posed and will post because their opinion is helpful.  The same goes in reverse...some Dom/me/Master/Sir/Daddy have subs/slaves that don't post on the boards..yet they also have intimate knowledge to how their sub/slave would react to a posed question and their input would be instructive and relevant to the post/question asked.

LOL  You seem to be focused on the way other people should or should not be posting.

Since the rules of the board (TOS) do not exclude anyone from posting anywhere they like on the board, then people are not required to limit themselves to where they post.

I would encourage you to wander into the other sections of the board and read what people have to say.  It is my opinion that it is good to broaden your perspective of things.

Some of us keep our Skittles separated by color and others dump them into a bowl and eat them without worrying about what color they are.

If it's important for you to post on a forum that constantly polices it's contributors and insists that they adhere to strict guidelines, it's best to start your own and police it yourself.  But I can guarantee you, your membership won't be large for very long.  And you'll need a large police force.
