I guess I give people too much credit sometimes, but you're right, maybe eventually I will expect less of people and not bring up unpopular theories with the expectation that people will actually want to consider it objectively. If men were willing to take less than they are worth, they deserve that also... IF someone is worth $50 K, but I offer $40 K, and they accept, as the employer I just saved myself $10 K a year.... the only reason I can come up to why women are paid less is because they are willing to be paid less, if they weren't willing to work for less, they'd be paid the same.... So if you got a problem with the pay structure, talk to women and tell them to demand what their worth, because ultimately its not the employer's goal to spend more than demanded on salaries...and then you got the problem that even if you are not willing to work for less, another woman is....

Objective consideration: IQ may or may not be valid. That Gould guy I mentioned? Anyone can think anything, look him up. Objective consideration deux: So you are proposing that correct compensation in the work place be tied to IQ testing rather than skills or abilities relevant to the work performed? That would work well.

Women are paid less, also because they are stuck the VAST majority of the time with family duties, maternity leave (duh) and things which whether it's right or not, necessitate that they are not able to prioritize the job to the degree men are. I'm not certain it's always wrong. If I have an employee who's always there when I need them and one who's always got to take bubba to the game, whatever equipment the two of them have, it seems appropriate that person A be compensated better, no?

However, that being said, studies also bear out that greater IQ doesn't translate directly to greater net worth. People with higher IQs earn more statistically, but they aren't any better about saving it. My hypothesis, not that I've seen it tested anywhere, is that people both considerably above or below the average IQ of their society become more socially awkward due to not seeing things the same way as the rest of the herd. Anyone seen anything on that topic before?

Did BUSH say all women shall be 4 IQ points more stupid? You are taking those articles as gospel and they aren't.....its just some leftist with an agenda similiar to your own...

Those other factors do seem reasonable, which is one reason I'd like to see further studies. I, for one, even if I was a woman would want to know if women in general had a slightly lower IQ, if it contributed to lower pay, and if there is anything to be done about it. I would also like to know if the intellectual growth of our society is being limited, regardless of gender, due to social conformity pressures. Also, did you realized that you posted reply to yourself several times? It struck me as odd. I also wonder if the reason for women being more bossy at home, is because they are disadvantaged outside of the home or at work. Perhaps it's to compensate?

I often think of Ben Franklin as kind of my mythic hero of smart. If any of us came up with ONE of the things he came up with we'd have lived a full life. Ben, in addition to being a genius, most likely, was able to frame his thoughts for the masses. (Poor Richard) Understood that to win over the French aristocracy to the cause against the English, charming the noblewomen was key - styling himself as "the raw, rugged American in furs" was key to creating a myth around himself - he was his own image stylist when there was no such thing. And he also was the only founder to be an abolitionist - to love humantity his peers couldn't even see. The short point - misunderstood misanthrope isn't necessary with high IQ.
