ORIGINAL: selfbnd411 Who's Ted Nugent? More to the point is, why's Ted Nugent? OK, I wasnt there for it first time round, and maybe it was one of those things where you had to be there..... but having been pressed to borrow one of his productions a while back, I reckon that wherever I was to have missed it may have been a better place to be. Nice album cover, obviously talented guy, but "no thanks". E I'm pretty sure that you aren't Uncle Teddy's target demographic. As a teenager, the guitar work on his early albums was garnering attention from established stars many years his senior. His career choice at that point would have been to join Roy Buchanan et al. in the 'Most underated' Hall of Obscurity (and sell a few thousand records to guitar geeks) , or to build on his outrageous stage persona, dumb down his recorded output, and rake in the moolah. I'll leave it to artsy poseurs to explain why he made the 'wrong' choice.... I wouldn't call playing to < 300 people in a bar in a strip mall in Clifton Park, NY ( that's NORTH of Albany, btw... ) as exactly raking in the moolah.... I *would* call that barely being able to pay the bills. I guess it's better than paying him welfare. You know who was a kid with talent? Derek Trucks... Of course, HE is playing with the Allman Brothers Band now. They're filling 25k seat sheds this summer. Hey, the market really does work!
