i wouldn't know, i don't waste my money (what little there is of it) or my time on such events

And see... there is the problem. Most women I know wouldn't waste their time on a man who couldn't at least respect the event as enjoyable for other people.

Any woman living in the western world does not have to worry about basic human rights.  Father's rights, life expectancy, and quality of education are just a few examples of things women in general have the advantage.

I will give you father's rights - I agree that gender does not make one parent better than the other.  Although in discussions I have had on this topic the opinion has divided unexpectedly the opposite of what you might think.  The women were more concerned about what the best fit for the child was and who was most tuned in to the kid - where as the men have been unanimous in stating that a child needs its mother more than its father!  I have tried to convince more than one man that this is not necessarily so - even a few heart broken men who have sadly given up custody, but to no avail.
Life expectancy - yeah, women have a little advantage in more recent years - but a slightly better life expectancy is hardly a right.  It is more of a symptom.  Is it fair?  Not really.  But it will adjust of its own accord I am sure.

As to quality of education - studies would disagree with you on that one.

And "basic human rights" - its not about having basic rights, its about having equal rights in 1st world countries - note, I do not say Western as that is just incorrect altogether.  Now you cannot really truely think that you have clear perspective on this as you have not walked in our shoes - become a woman for a couple years and then give me your opinion. After you have been paid 1/2 to 2/3rds of the money your male counterpart makes then I am willing to listen to your opinion about women's rights in the 1st world as a worthy cause.

And finally, I am not only interested in equal rights for women in 1st world countries, but for women everywhere.  Genital mutilation is still widely practiced in Africa and we are seeing it here in the US too in imigrant populations.  The right to own property is still widely denied the majority of women in the world....Sure men and animals are not treated equally everywhere either - but that does not make the effort to improve women's rights any less important - and it does not make the women and men who seek and advocate for women's rights (otherwise known as feminists), men haters or closed minded - it just means that for whatever reason it is a cause that has particular meaning to them.  How is it any skin off of your nose?

As a novice dom one of the first things I figured out (from talking to sub women, as potential partners and also to get a better read on different wants and needs), was that they had *all* run across some seriously fucked up men while searching. And, as you say, this is a magnet for them - it's like one of those hunting preserves.
So I made a specific point of including a section of my profile on this and other sites making clear that I love and respect women and describing my motivations, as best I can understand them so far, but after much self-examination, and that they are not rooted in any "issues" with women.
BTW, a whole lot of pyschoanalyzing why I'm here and like to do this and that came down to - who the fuck knows why we like what we like. I'll have to settle for being confident I'm not here out of any need to abuse and degrade women - at least in any way not mutually enjoyable.
Hope that makes some kind of sense. I imagine we just keep figuring out more about ourselves and others as we go.

is it just me or do you look like Mick Jagger? sorry for the hijack...
