I'm setting my home page to the first and bookmarking the other!

And oh yes... I love you.

Hmm...yes, one would think that's the way it's supposed to work -- I just googled for a Bush presidency countdown and this one came up -- wonder if they misnamed it and it's counting how long he's been in office, or if they might have been hacked? Hmm... I'll drop a note to the webmaster. Good spotting that!

Try this one instead: Backwards Bush

Edited to add new link

*chuckle* [:)]

Might want to make the Backwards Bush site your homepage instead -- the other one does indeed appear to be counting up! Augh! [:'(] (but the Is It Over Yet? link seems to be working okay.)

The Backwards Bush site even has backward counting keychains you can get to make your day a little brighter as time ticks off.

Oh BTW, if you have Windows XP you can add a small version of the countdown clock directly to your desktop (& move it to wherever you like on there). Here's how:

1) Right-click on a blank spot on your desktop
2) Click properties
3) Select the "Desktop" tab
4) Click the "Customize Desktop" button
5) Select the "Web" tab
6) Click "New"
7) Cut and paste the following into the Location box: http://www.backwardsbush.com/includes/publicClockSmall.php
8) Make sure you're connected to the Internet
9) Click OK (it will then connect to the page and download the info)
10) Click OK again to add it to your Active Desktop
11) Click the next OK button, then the Apply and OK buttons once more and you're done.
12) If you put your mouse pointer over the clock, edges will appear and you can use these to resize it, or drag it around your desktop.

The end [:)]

Edited to provide Active Desktop instructions

I noticed that too... I assumed they were doing how long he'd been in office and I just did the math to figure out how much longer he'd be there. But I'll check the other one out and replace it if it's counting down. That works much better... then I don't have to calculate to figure it out.

Thank you Ojedieu. The second link is much clearer. I have a couple of American friends who will enjoy it.

So... why can't the site which owns the servers say that for the consideration of one e-mail, we "own" a portion of the server, and then we can tell Ashcroft, Bush and the other freedom haters to fuck off?

I'm really getting pissed off at Ashcroft & Co - what a bunch of facists!

On a side note to the USC 2257 issue..

I work in the webhosting industry and was curious about the actual law enforcement response to the increased policing of adult oriented material, and I called up my local FBI agency because I have a good contact with the cybercrimes unit. I asked him about this issue, particularly in regards to text-based sites such as Collarme which contain sexual material.
First off, he hadn't even HEARD of any of the current rumblings regarding increased enforcement of adult oriented sites, and he related to me that they are so busy with real child pornography, they wouldn't have time to engage in any sort of increased persecution of legitimate adult-oriented sites even if they wanted to.

Perhaps you should read the current NSCF update in the off topic section. Just because one man out of hundreds if not thousands knows nothing doesn't mean it isn't happening.
