ORIGINAL: luckydog1 Exactly Domiguy, only listen to those who agree with you, life is better that way.... No....That wasn't my point at all....To conduct an argument you should probably have a mutual understanding of the events that have transpired up to this point. So let's say that someone says, "I think Pres Bush is doing a good job"....Then I lay out everything that has transpired within his presidency....They read it over....Look up and say..."Yep, he's my guy...And he's doing a great job." Is there any sense in continuing a discussion on this point? If someone can conclude after everything that has happened that Pres Bush is doing a good job I know to stay away from an argument about politics with that individual....There is nothing to be gained or lossed...It is pointless because I can see that this person has lost the ability to look at things in a rational light....They are simply blinded by their political beliefs and there is no point in continuing with a discussion any further. And I don't think you are getting lucky's point, either domiguy. Rather than lecturing this supposed "thinks Bush is doing a good job" guy about why you think he's all screwed up, why not listen to his reasons why he thinks Bush is doing a good job? You know ... actually listen with an open mind, rather than lecture with a closed mind? It doesn't mean that you'll agree with him, even then, but perhaps you'll understand that someone could have good and valid reasons to hold an opinion that you disagree with. FirmKY I'm all ears....Tell me why someone could reach the decision that Bush is doing a good job?
