how acceptable is some one in a wheelchair as a Dominant?

SubinMaine -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 10:35:03 AM)

i don't see why a wheel chair would matter?  Not having the use of one's legs wouldn't make someone less of a Dominant in my eyes, i would think it would depend on the submissive/slave and what their comfort level would be.

Having a partner (either Dom or sub) who is handicapped is going to be a matter of personal judgement. How acceptable is it to YOU? That's all that really matters when you're looking for a relationship.

I don't know why it wouldn't be acceptable

RCdc -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 10:51:35 AM)

There are wheelchair dominants and dominants with all types of disabilities.  Acceptability within what it is that we do really shouldn't be an issue, it just means you have to find someone compatable with your needs and desires.

attitude, personality is what matters. not psyicality; be there limitations or no to for the person of said psyicality.
a domininant can dominate by force of personality alone not needing legs, arms or voice. ive experianced that first hand.

Archer -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 10:58:47 AM)

I've known a few on wheels, and one who was legally blind, and several who were deaf, and lets see, at least a dozen who walked only with canes, and one who had very mild Cerebral Palsey.

GhitaAmati -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 11:04:41 AM)

I think the only thing you need to ask is if its acceptable to YOU. If you are asking is it possible for a person in a wheelchair to be a Dom, then the answer is hell yea. Are you asking if your specific person in a wheelchair is a good dom, I dunno, never met him. Could you see yourself submitting to this person?

~~edited to add...I just looked at your profile and maybe I read the origional question wrong. Seeing as how you list yourself as a Dominant straight male looking for a submissive female, Im going to go out on a limb and guess maybe you are the Dom in a wheelchair in question. With that in mind, yes...it is possible to still be a Dom while in a wheelchair.....are you a good Dom? I dunno...once again, never met you. Yes there are subs out there who submit to Doms with physical limitations. Yes I am sure there are subs out there who wouldnt. Does the chair define your ability to Dominate? Nope..only you can do that.

nephandi -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 11:09:16 AM)

Hi

For me it would not matter at all. It is the Dominat's mind i care about not that he need to be physically stronger than me. i do not see why somone handicapped could not be a Dominant, or a submissive or a slave for that matter.

i wish you well

I am in agreement with Archer.......Dominance runs the gamut of humanity, its foibles, its trials and tribulations.

I might say it this way, just don't be an 'armchair dominant'. Get out and get 'er done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A dominant in a wheelchair? GADS...almost as unacceptable as a redhead dominant or a dominant with a disproportionally long second toe.

It will depend on the individual, of course. But there's certainly plenty of ways to control from a sitting position. You could sit in a chair and order a Service submissive to clean all day long, or play with a sissy doing make up and hair, etc, etc...

MistressDaisy73 -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 11:21:54 AM)

Everything in the D/s world is so much more subjective and varied by nuance and flavor that I detest seeing what some here (not on this thread but on this site) label as right or wrong, good or bad, acceptable, etc etc.

Here is my 25cents (inflation dont ya know): I do like using restraints at times, I love bondage, and using my not insubstantial amazonian strength to aid in my Domination of a male submissive. If the submissive male is a strong alpha type, well muscled and bigger than I, all the better (oh baby!). Now, could I wrestle this kind of man to the ground if he didnt want me to? Uh er, probably not. Domination, for me, is about the submissive WANTING to submit, not being "forced". Who is the more obedient.... one who choses to be so, with no restraint or force, or the one who must be forced to obey? (Mind you I am not making a judgement call here on those who enjoy the whole "forced" thing, I only mention this as a difference given the wheelchair situation.)

I am in no wheelchair, but it makes me incredibly pleased, proud, feral, and yeah, er hot as hell, when my big burly subs do my bidding with just the arch of my incredibly perfect eyebrow. :)

It is all a matter of taste and style of D/s.

To control someone you do so by controlling their mind and how they think, getting inside their head. Why should a wheelchair stop that?

instynctive -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 12:17:22 PM)

I think it would be a cool new dynamic.. instead of trampling you could be run over.

littleone35 -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 12:42:17 PM)

D/s is in my case more mental than physical.  I don't see why a Dom being in a wheelchair would make someone less of a Dom.  So yes it is acceptable  it is the mind that matters much more then the body.

My grandmother scared the shit out of me even when she was in a wheelchair.

SimplyMichael -> RE: Is this acceptable? (7/19/2007 5:36:58 PM)

I think a disabled dominant in a wheelchair could easily be far less disabled than many who post here.  Dominance, at its core isn't about physical strength, it is about mental strength.

The woman who topped me at the charity event has a severe disability that she doesn't allow to severely impede her.  She is starting to explore topping and is going to make an amazing top despite having a movement disability.  I would be willing to be that only a few of the more experienced people there had seen such a well crafted and executed scene, let alone a mindfuck of the quality she did.

Don't let a wheelchair stop you!
