farglebargle -> RE: Restoring the draft (7/25/2007 12:03:19 PM)

I was born in New York. I choose to live in New York.

Frankly, the USA can go fuck itself. NEW YORK's economy is plenty strong without them, thank you very much, and we could do without the drain.

But, as we say in German, Alles hat ein Ende, nur die Wurst hat zwei. ( Everything has an end. Only the sausage has two. )

And like my family did before in Germany, when it's time get out, we're getting out with what we want to take, rather than getting out with what we can carry, or just getting out alive.

Experience shows that trusting ANY government too much is foolish.

"Frankly, the USA can go fuck itself."  I have pointed this out before about Farg.

farglebargle -> RE: Restoring the draft (7/25/2007 12:34:10 PM)

What? That I believe in the Declaration of Independence's injunction to fix or replace a broken Government?

Some would say the US lost the privilege of serving The People when they locked someone up for 1300 days without a court appearance, counsel, arraignment, or trial....

MasDom -> RE: Restoring the draft (7/25/2007 2:05:57 PM)

We should be able to vote idiots out like we do mayors...
   As for the war.
I say actually cut forces, and better equip them.
Then restation them all in key locations along the borders.
Cut off all enemy suplies comming in , and start useing
more of our war tech to surplus our long distance fighting.
Then aquire tank battalion support for these smaller sectors, and go blow those brown nosers to hell.
   >not ment as a racist remark<

Then take al lthe money we save, and put it into better cybernetics and research for wounded soilders.
Cause i,ll be damned if you draft me and get my arms blown off, just so I can live my life trying to hug my kids with a stainless steel hook.

They already have arms that have closeing hands, dont give me that shit...

luckydog:
I can see why it only took you thirty seconds to find this.  It is from the editroial page of the New York times where one author cites another author who cites an unpresented source. Which in turn is commented on by yet a third source saying that the conclusions may (or may not be valid)

Not everyone who demands evidence really wants to see it.[;)]

Alumbrado:
As you have shown when presented with evidence that you have asked for.  The fact that you did not want to pay for it as I did is your problem not mine.

Heck Alumbro, a certain "un-named posterX" will go as far as to edit his posts when called on a lie, and pretend he never made the comment.  I guess that guy has to resort to such to even attempt to make points in debate.  I suppose that "certain person" will now demand I look up a thread from last winter.

luckydog:
If you want to bring it up why don't you bring up the post and lets talk about it and see who the liar is...of course if you cant produce the evidence then who the liar is would seem to be pretty obvious

BOUNTYHUNTER:
You say you were drafted and spent thirty years as Green Beret  officer putting out brush fires...What exactly did you do to protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America?  To protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America is the oath you took, both as an enlisted man and as an officer.

You are still running away from challenges you've made asking for evidence, which when provided, went against your assertions.

Nice try at projection, and inept attempt at changing the subject from your current failure.

Are you suggesting that the person behind the typewriter who types up the requisition for your ammo or the FAO who sits in a hole with a radio calling in a fire mission or the cook who has hot rations for you is somehow less important than you and somehow is not entitled to claim they have served in the military....please say it ain't so tell me those words were only poorly chosen and not meant as a not so subtle indictment of those who served in a different capacity than me and thee.

30 years a special forces officer putting out brush fires all over the world.....YES it was but someone had to do it....

Actually you presented evidence that was printed within the past ten years I presented evidence that was printed at the time of the incident.

Nice try at projection, and inept attempt at changing the subject from your current failure.
Which failure might that be?
