This is not an attack. I have aways heard people on the news, blaming the government. Maybe or maybe not, I do not know. Having always worked in places with over 150 people, I see a large number of the worst workers you ever saw. They are lazy, cry babys, with the worst work ethics. I would not blame a place for closing and going some where else, if they had to deal with my co-workers.

A typically stupid statement from Fargle.  You can blame politicians.  It's the politicians that put through N.A.F.T.A. which opened the flood gates out of this country allowing U.S. manufacturers to open in other countries.  Of course, the politicians stated that they were only listening to the American public that wanted to be able to buy cheaper consumer goods.  So, of course, you can blame the unions for causing the price of our consumer goods to be inflated.   But then, there are all of these "New World Order" morons (one of the biggest having been George Herbert Walker Bush) who zealously supported N.A.F.T.A.   Ole H.W. Bush was a big believer that the U.S. is part of one world community rather than an individual nation.  So...yeah...the world is one big community of consumers but all the manufacturing is done in every other country but the U.S.

Anyway, who do you want to blame?  You can't really blame the bosses.  N.A.F.T.A. broke the strangle hold of the unions by allowing companies to leave this country.  N.A.F.T.A. also allowed businesses to operate in a much less regulated fashion.  If you were a boss and your labor cost you $25.00 per hour, per person, to sink screws in a pre-drilled holes, wouldn't YOU go elsewhere????

Corporate America(which are actually mostly multi national companies,w/ no allegiance to the US)

US Chamber of Commerce

Their friends in government(both Dem and Republican)

And so called "free-trade" bills and treaties.(which aren`t fair to the US)

Quite true, but those things were going on well before the mass shipping of jobs overseas 'surged' (coinciding with the boost in imprisonment).

American business hit a point at which record post WWII growth in profits and salaries could not be sustained... so the CEOs kept theirs.

Why blame?  That just causes more problems.

However you slice the cake wage costs must be a major factor in job export.
Not stated as an attack on anybody, just as a fact

Here in the UK, where the same job loss problem exists, I recently bought a wide screen TV for  £180, cheap because it has the old fashioned screen, not one of the new flat screens.
So a hi tech Brit Designed TV with  chips and electronic fandangle dingles and manufactured in the Far East.
To go with it I bought a stand made of fibre board and a few metal support rods with a construction less complex that that of the TV's case.
Cost £40.

I assume the stand was made in the UK, if it was made in the Far East  then I really was screwed.

How so?

The way I see it, a dialog of blame has the potential to eventually lead the consensus to the source of the problem of which they are discussing.

Problems typically can't be solved prior to understanding the problem itself.

NAFTA, & all the voters who voted for the politicians who pushed it through.

Good news, though, & hopefully, the momentum will continue on.  Some of the companies that shipped jobs over to India, have started to ship them back to the USA.  They said it was because they are now having to pay higher wages to the India workers, & if they are paying higher wages to them, they figure they may as well give those jobs to Americans.

And quite frankly, I don't think I would have a problem with the Mafia taking back our unions.  They did a pretty good job of taking care of loyal workers & their families.  Unions have steadily been losing their power & our higher paying jobs right along with them.

Funny, I usually work for American it/banking companies that outsource to Canada. Their claim is we are more polite (submissive??) lol,

Yet, we are not to admit where they are calling to as 'here'.  Makes ya feel all like shameful and unnecessary like a gf stashed in a closet when the wifey pulls in.

Never felt that dirty before.  It was kinda thrilling. NOT.
