I have to say...

Seeing some of the responses to this thread have churned my stomach.  Clearly, this is a problem that we know little or nothign about.  It could be garden variety drama, it could also be evidence of an extremely unstable mind.  Is it absolutely necessary to see someone who craps their pants, bend over, and crap on them too?  Does that make you feel bigger?  better?  stronger? 

Frankly, I would hope the moderators would yank this thread entirely; it obviously has nothing to do with the community here.

An unstable mind is a terrible thing to waste....When I was but a domiboy, My GrandDomi would take me to watch the Cincinnati Reds play ball....He was a mountain of a man and often he would place me on his shoulders so that I could view the game.
 
He would say, "Domiboy, can you see better from up there?" And I replied, "Yes, GrandDomi I can." He continued on by saying, "Now imagine if I went down and smashed all of the people in front of us, then you could watch the game without having to be on my shoulders.....Do you understand?"  Not truly comprehending what this great man was saying I simply nodded my head in approval.
 
My GrandDomi always said that when sitting in general admission...Always sit behind midgets...You can see and enjoy the show and if you get drunk enough they are as equally fun to throw....He then rambled on something about when playing craps always make sure there is an old Chinaman to your left....Unfortunately he passed before he could explain in detail the logic behind that statement....God, I miss my GrandDomi.

You just met these people, 5 weeks of online fantasy swapping does not a love affair make.

I sometimes think these posts have to be fake or maybe I just hope they are. Jesus.

OP, So you have had an internet relationship, and when met face to face it fizzeled. I am sorry for being blunt, but that is what seems to have happened. The lesson to be learned is to not give so much emotionally to internet relationships until you do meet face to face. Those who don't understand that aren't living in reality themselves.

I love the way that others, who only know each other on the internet and only through a few posts, can be so judgemental. You who are criticizing her for trusting that the other person on the other side of the computer had mutual feelings are trusting your own veiw point as being valid. Just my observation is.... if you don't actually know the person face to face you should probably not say you know what is going on because you don't.

Actually it has everything to do with the community here.    It is the CollarChat norm to look at someone who lives contrary to how the norm thinks they should live, and publically berate them.    You have feelings for someone you never met?  You're an idiot!  You had sex on the first meet?  You're an idiot!  You don't have a safe word?  You're an idiot!  You were (gasp) gullible?  You're an idiot!  You don't live the way  we (collectively)  think you should live?  You're an idiot!!!
 
There are several threads going on like this right now.  It is shameful to me, but it is reality.  We think just because we've already gone through the bumps and bruises in life and have reached somewhere near perfection that we can be void of compassion and understanding.  I used to be one of those "idiots" (ha, and some would say I still am).  I haven't forgotten the path I travelled.   Those who were born with good and healthy influences in their lives...those who were born with all the knowledge they profess others should have...don't know how easy they had it.  Those who had to work for it seem to have little patience for folks who are just starting out, or whose starting line may be even farther back.
 
But such is the way.  The cycle will continue.  New threads will appear and the same folks will be on each thread, bonking the "idiots" down a few notches because that is somehow supposed to help.  Thus is the way of our community.

to be fair, I'm not talking about the community or how good and bad it is.  I don't get exciting by flames.  What had me so genuinely angry was people derisively, jokingly, suggest she actually kill herself.  That they value other's so little, that they'd actually make a joke of it? 

Leon Uris has a passage in the novel Armageddon where the head of a concentration camp and his wife (two people who committed unspeakable acts) are being held prisoner by some of the former inmates.  They are being roundly and generally abuse.  One of the most respected, and tormented of the camp enters the room seeing what is happening.  He proceeds to command the nazi to spit on his wife.  He then commands his wife to spit on the nazi.  Then the nazi is told to slap his wife.  Then his wife is commanded to slap him.  This continues for about ten or fifteen minutes, until all of the laughing and excitement at debasing their captors is sucked out of the room, and the 'spectators' are disgusted with what they are now seeing.  The man stops them, and has them sent away. 

It doesn't matter how worthless we consider the lives or thoughts of others to be; the moment we have forgotten that even the most horrid people's lives have value, we become no better than Nazis.

I wouldn't say I get excited by flames, either, but I do find the repeated, predictable ones to get old after awhile.  And this isn't the first time this "community" has mocked others about killing themselves.  It won't be the last, either.  I personally find it shameful.  Obviously others do not.

I have a valid question. I tend to want to try to help people if I can. I have some amount of experiences to pull from.

My problem however is in knowing which of these posts are men or women who genuinely want advice and which are those who just want sympathy. I hate wasting my time and being manipulated. Sometimes it seems as if they post these topics, get everyone on the board in an uproar and never come back to respond. Are they out there laughing at what they were able to create?

Wow, am I cynical!

Sometimes it is really difficult to determine. This particular post though is pretty black and white to anyone who has been paying attention. The poster posted on one board just the other day that she had just met her Master and Mistress that day, moments later she posted to someone asking a question about a particular activity that her Master and Mistress had done that to her many, many times. Some of her posts were pulled, including several on this thread. She joined one day before making her announcement. I'm not sure where the 5 week internet relationship is coming from, I've seen nothing in regard to that.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that it is bullshit if you saw all of the postings.

Hi chey,

I approach all of my advice postings on this site from the perspective that it doesn't really matter if the opening poster is being honest, sincere, or just a drama queen.  I consider that for every one person asking a question, ten probably have the same question themselves, and are curious for the answers.  My response isn't always just for the OP, but for everyone who might benefit from whatever crap I happen to spew at any given time.  That way, it doesn't matter what the OP does; I'm sure someone, somewhere read what I said, and it helped them.

Also, I know that in posting, I often learn something new about people or myself.  I don't write for the world at large's benefit; I write because it makes me a better person.

Hope that's worth something to ya,
