Just wanting to know what different Masters opinions are for if they prefer already trained subs or to train a sub themselves? A lot of Doms profiles say they want experienced subs.

Well, i can only say............sure it is "easier" with a trained sub, but in the long run, would depend on how the two feel, and I don't think one knows always they are getting involved with someone "inexpereinced".  But it probably causes a lot of headaches on both parts. LOL

I prefer novices. I dont like subs trained already.  Personally, I like being someone's firsts. Besides, if they are already trained, it isnt necessarily tried to do what I like, which means I may have to untrain them before I can retrain them.

I am agreeing with Vampire :) All I know is the one who trains me, will be my Master, I will not learn from anyone else, and all experiences I want to be first with him.

My owner said to me that he loved the fact that I am untrained, because I am like a soft tender clay in his hands, never used before

Experienced and trained are not synonyms.  General experience can be helpful in creating context, common understanding and reducing the need to explain lots of minor points.  Training tends to be specific, training also means behavior modification and that means the formation of habits.   Habits which may not always be desireable.  A slave might have been thoroughly trained to prepare dozens of kinds of steak dinnners... which will be next to worthless if her new master is a vegetarian.

Not necessarily, depends on how compatible her training is with my lifestyle.  In some cases I'd spend more time retraing her than I would simply training a complete novice to my tastes.  For example, while some aspects of Gorean kajira training appeal to me, there are other aspects which I find very annoying.  If a former kajira were to seek me out as a master (and that has happened in the past, and would be surprised by it in the future), then she'd have to re-learn some behaviors.  If she's very willing and open minded about that, it can go smoothly.  But some cling to what they know even when they shouldn't, and that creates problems.

In the long run it comes down to how compatible they are and how committed they are to the relationship.  Anything is possible if both are fully committed to the same goal... making it work.

Depends on how much time the dominant took getting to know the submissive, and that's time well spent regardless of their experience level.

Sometimes... depends on the individual personalities more than on the experience level.  There are pro's and con's to both.

Just because someone has been "trained", doesn't mean that they do not require further "training" under a new dominant's hand.    Every relationship is different, be it D/s, M/s or vanilla.

My slave had not one bit of real life experience when I met her. To me desire is more important than experience in any slave I would collar. I will teach them all they need to know anyway.

Makes no difference because I'm still going to train her my way, either way.  Everything that came before is part of what has formed her into who she is and if I didn't feel comfortable about who she is when I meet her I wouldn't have anything to do with her to begin with.   It doesn't matter what she did before or how.  She is either going to learn to do it my way or she will be looking for a new master to serve.

personally i like someone untrained. that way you can mold them to how you want them. being trained they are use to doing something a certain way then have to relearn on how you wantr them.

Dear ExquisiteFeline, Ladies and Gentlemen;

For me, each have their plus and minus points as far as training goes.

I prefer experienced slaves, especially when living in a 24/7 situation, as they have experienced the lifestyle and it is not a fantasy yet to be lived.  With so much romance and sugar coating to lifestyle like novels, when it is discovered it is not all playing in the dungeon or being tied up naked, kept and fed rent free--then the fantasy is gone and a lot of male slaves stomp off as they just want the fantasy--few want the relationship, for those I've dealt with.

Training is a broad word for me, as it could be simple good manners to a extremely gifted slave who can do many things extremely well.  That said, even if the slave was previously trained it will be changed as to suit my personal tastes.  Since I enjoy entertaining and teaching, a slave would need to fit those areas where the slave is required to be in service to me.

There may be training by a previous Owner/Trainer/Master/Mistress and/or Dominant -- that I may incorporate within my household.

Untrained though, has the advantage of not having to 'unlearn' things.  Yet, the investment in training someone may result in the slave leaving, as they cannot handle the training I give.  At least with someone who has lived in a household as a slave, has an idea of what enslavement in a living relationship requires--it is no longer an idea, a guess, an assumption and or a dream.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

Greetings
trained vs untrained....how much? how far? to what degree?
There were things that attracted My Lady and I to each other, things that were built upon, expanded, evolved, transformed as time has gone by. Why in god's name would I want to make wholesale changes? Look at it this way, a fine automobile only needs tuneups...and it runs just fine. My lady may and I say may only need discussion or for us to listen to each other and then decide....and she and I run just fine. It is not about how you can change the other to fit what you want, rather it is about finding that the other is a damnable uncanny fit to begin with and build upon what is already there...remodelling a show home is not something I would consider, nor would I begin to think of retraining.

The notion of a "pre trained sub, ready to serve a Master" is generally bullshit. There is some exceptions like the development of a mentality.

Any "training" my slave would undergo would be essentially me teaching her how I want things done based on my individual standards. If the prior Master or dominant had the exact same standards that I have, then its great. Personally, though, I am not holding out for it no more than I am delaying funding my retirement fund in anticipation of winning the lottery.

Sure, it can go both ways. If they do some of the things I like, then its a help. If they do mostly things I dont like, then its a hinderance. Regardless, the notion of "slave trainers" preparing subs and slaves for service to other Masters is a flawed and impractical concept.

Expereience is simply experience and it doesnt have anything to do with my indiviualized training. How benefical it is to me is determiend by the kind and quality of experiences. I can have years of experience as a chef, but if none of that experience is in sushi and I go to work for a sushi bar, I am not much better off than an inexperienced chef except for general skills that apply to the job. (For example, if a slave has a lot of experience with swallowing cum, there wont be many issues with her swallowing my cum)

Regardless, I can have all the experience in the world as a chef and every restaurant will still have a different menu I will have to learn. The same applies to new Masters in regards to training.

MJ has known for years that I have extensive training, as a close friend He knew that and had some beackground on that before we made this step to a relationship. We talked about it before we met the first time and then that night, He actually saw an example of my training and He said He was 'impressed' at well I was trained. That doesn't mean that I am 'fully trained' it just means that He has to be on His top game and train me how He wants and in those areas, kinda define the 'edges' etc.

Its a double edged sword of sorts, its a great thing to have training, it makes some things and interaction better and less stressfull, at the same time, it can cause things to be 'off' if He doesn't like how I was trained in a particular manner, etc. Its about balance and about communication.

MJ is already bringing up a few areas where He wants to train, {yuck.. I can't say I am looking forward to one in particular}, we talk about it and we will work on things and 'train' as we can. Its part of our relationship. I don't mind any of it, it makes me a better slave in the long run and it increases trust.

I'd prefer some training and experience, and DEFINITELY prefer older, mature full grown independent man.

But I tend to be a novice magnet and deal well with them so I've accepted my lot.
