This might be along the "silly question" line, and I have a new submissive man I am interested in who doesn't like shopping (not the way most women I know like it anyway) - and that's fine, I like him a lot anyway - and it's not an "issue" between us.

I am simply asking out of curiosity - So -besides CD's (Cross Dressers) - are there many (hetero) male submissives out there who enjoy shopping the way a woman does? I mean either for clothing for their Mistress, or even maybe just for themselves (with or without their Mistress there)?

Sorry to exclude the gay male subs, but - if you are a gay male sub, I am taking for granted you'll shop - and probably enjoy it. That may be a "stereotype" but for the most part, I think it's true. So - gay male subs are exempt from this question, hehe. Ditto for the CD's (gay or straight).

My understanding is that some hetero men would honestly almost rather be shot than have to go shopping, while others don't mind - and then there are some who apparently really enjoy shopping.

So - to the hetero, non-CD male submissives out there -which kind of man are you, as far as liking to shop? Again, I am simply asking out of curiosity.

P.S. Mistresses can answer this question for their submissives, if they choose.*
Thanks for any replies.

- Susan

Kitten likes shopping for clothes MORE than I do. Its almost disturbing.  Hes such a spoiled little fashionista. Angel is like me, in and out.

Ok, I'm not a submissive male, but I will say that My last sub loved to go clothes shopping. He was not a crossdresser, gay, or even bi, but he very much enjoyed going shopping together and finding things for Me as well as finding nice things for him to wear when we went out. I'm sure there aren't a lot of "masculine" men out there who like to clothes shop, but some of them are true clothes horses.

One of my subs loves to take me shopping for new clothes and he is very, very straight.

I appreciate knowing this - I think for some, there could be some mis-conception among some straight males that liking to shop is a "strictly gay thing" (no offense to gay men intended. At all). It's not, IMO (or doesn't have to be). On the other hand, maybe some just plain don't like shopping, which is fine. It's great knowing there are hetero, non-CD men out there who like it.

In any case, I don't care that much that my submissive doesn't like to shop - of course, I haven't suggested a trip shopping yet exclusively for lingerie for me - he might feel differently in that case, hehe. I am sure he'd do it if I ordered him to do it - I am just sort of asking to see how many submissive men like it, and how many just don't.

I like to shop, but not for clothes.

I hate shopping for clothes.

I'd much rather shop for HDTVs, or stainless steel brake lines.

Okay, that's an acceptable answer, pollux. It's also good to know what some men will shop for, if they don't like shopping for clothing. I appreciate the reply.

I know my own father (who's not a submissive, but of course is a man) almost has to be physically dragged out of the hardware section of Sears he is so into the merchandise there. I know other men who are very interested in high-tech, techhie toys, and love to look at those, and price them, compare, etc.

I also have this fantasy (kinda) of doing a "man makeover" - not that my own sub needs it (not at all, he's hot), but I still think sounds like a lot of fun to dress men up so they look extra hot and get them in different kinds of suits - in really hot trendy, yet very tasteful clothes. My new submissive interest dresses really well, as far as I can tell - but it's still a fantasy of mine. He doesn't know I have this fantasy - and it might make him feel funny if he did. Maybe not at all. I dunno. Oh well. But - now it's "out" so I guess I will tell him we are going shopping. For both of us.

Anyway - I am still curious how many hetero, non-CD male subs like to shop.

i don't mind shopping for clothes for my wife... as is often said regarding art, i may not know much about fashion, but i know what i like  Not just fetish clothing, of course, but everyday and work stuff. i do wish that more stores had the sense to put chairs outside the dressing rooms.
On the other hand, i hate shopping for clothes for myself... mens clothes are no fun, and it's a trial to find things that fit me well. i buy clothes once a year or so, and i'll usually pick the first thing that fits well and comes in a good neutral color and buy a half-dozen.
i'll spend hours at the hardware stores, and entire days at swap meets, though

i love shopping and not just for clothes, although in today's market, the styles are somewhat horrid (i miss the clothes from the 70s). seems that the fashion industry has a poor sense of what looks good on a man and what men want. of course, i could spend hours looking through the clothes racks to see if i can stumble upon things i like.

Just for background, I am not gay or bi or into being feminized etc. and I'm generally in control of my vanilla life. My point is that I fall into the group voted least likely to enjoy clothes shopping. I think every man likes to look good as I do. When I go clothes shopping, I usually bring a woman who I think has good fashion sense (this has always been a vanilla situation). I don't have the time or inclination to keep up with what is in style this year vs two years ago. So, I find a woman's advice very helpful. But, there are times when something is suggested as fashionable that doesn't fit with my personality and personal taste. If I had a Domme, I wouldn't mind heeding her advice in clothing.

As to shopping for her, I have done this with Dominants and vanilla. It can be playful and fun and it is always interesting seeing an attractive woman dressed in different sexy looks. When the clothing gets more mundane, I am less interested. After all, I am a man . I have had experiences where it can be very erotic and intense and lead to more fun when we return home.

The former wife used to bribe me to go clothes shopping with Her with promises
of food and drink if i was a good little helper. She knew i would give Her an
honest opinion of how She looked in the outfits She chose. i had a fairly keen
eye for adorments which complimented Her body shape, skin color, and hair.

Most of Her best outfits actually were presents from me for certain occasions,
holidays, or simple surprises, i enjoyed seeing Her look Her most beautiful.

The act of shopping itself however, just shoot me, put me out of my misery,
push me off a cliff, make we walk on hot coals, (what ever happened to the
people who used to do that) tie me naked to a tree and sell hot flaming
melted marshmallows to passing truckers to fling at me while hysterical
Women scream "Smore", "Smore", long story short, i completely lose it.

i loathe "shopping". i must know where, when, the quickest route to the isle
that contains the item which i must purchase, and they must have a ten items
or less express line, or i start trembling, shifting my feet, eyes searching for
another cashier, any cashier, just some cashier to CHECK ME OUT!

i'm sure i turned into a pathetic, pouting, whiney little boy each time the Wife
somehow managed to drag me out of the house, force me into the car, keeping
the windows rolled up so i wouldn't take a suicidal leap for freedom. Think taking
the dog to the vet, and he knows, he just knows. Please, please, anything but
shopping, i beg of you. i kid you not, i will hide for hours if i know someone
is looking for a shopping companion. "Olly, Olly Ox in free, chia*, chia*, damn
it chia*, I just need one pair of shoes. "Shoes", just shoot me! On, off, on, off,
i'm slithering out of the chair while the clerk sweats and gives me that, "At least
I'm getting paid to suffer here dude."

But i will do it if it makes you happy, cause i love when those i love are happy.
Yes, i'll even buy those wing things for you, a great sacrifice, but can be done.

Just don't be surprised if you look over and i'm making faces in the mirror, or
hiding in the clothes rack, or sticking security tags on peoples butts before
they head for the electronic exit. Cause i simply turn into a lost little boy who
has to do something to make myself forget that i'm actually being held hostage
at the SuperMart of Misery. Now grocery shopping, that i can handle fairly
well, though again, people probably think i won a shopping spree and have
ten minutes to cover the entire store. And when i get to the front, there damn
well better be enough cashiers to get me out before my nutty buddys start
melting, if not, i start melting, and that's just not pretty.

Bi the way, not gay, more het than anything, but my Momma told me,

"You better shop around!"

chiaThePet: You just cracked me up! I could not stop, laughing. Thanks for your post!
I now have a slight more bit of sympathy for my male submissive interest. I will probably still take him shopping, but will make it a shorter trip, for the sake of his sanity, hehe.

Haven't found too many men who enjoy shopping for "non-male things" ... they'll spend hours in hardware stores, computer stores, car parts stores and the like ... but grumble even when shopping for clothes for themselves, let alone for anyone else! Master's surprisingly good with grocery shopping, He usually manages to turn it into a fun time ... beeping like a car when reversing the trolley out of the wrong aisle, starting it's "motor" and revving it etc etc! But He HATES shopping for His clothes with a passion and it's about the only time i see Him get a bit childish and petulant!

I've had fun taking a non CD sub shopping for lingerie ... then when he gently pointed out I'd chosen something way too small for Me I said ... Oh no, it's for you! The blush was to die for

Have to say though that I am not a typical girl in that I don't just like mooching around the shops, I only go when I have something specific to buy. My back aches way too much too soon to just meander. And I much prefer to buy all My clothes through a party plan company here in Australia (msg Me on the other side if you want to know more) that caters for ALL sizes. That makes shopping fun and easy and it all arrives in a parcel a few days later! Plus through that system I've got lots of clothes free and for half price by hosting parties for My friends. Can't beat that!

Interesting thread though Susan!

I, actually prefer shopping in a hardware store to clothes shopping.  Shopping for me, or with me?  Maybe we should get this onto a checklist here on site.

My first slave was good at following me around, paying, than carrying the bags to the car.   I wish we were more compatible in other areas, he'd be a keeper.
I generally prefer to go shopping by myself, because I cannot stand unhappy/whiny people spoiling my enjoyment of walking for hours, and looking for no special reason.   M
