I like the hedonist theory. Maybe the hedonists are also the ones who are more open to being...well, open about their desires. I have a feeling that there are a ton [no pun intended] of submissive women who either don't advertise their leanings or take great pains to hide it.

Do YOU have low self-esteem? Or are you less sexually liberated in YOUR thinking? Or are YOU more sexually desperate?

Have you seen the choice of some men around here?  Take a look sometime. ( no offense to the ones that are hawwt) lol. 

Maybe it is that you have the 'lil' gals like me on iggy or squish-proofing block? 

But in all seriousness...

the age group that you most likely seek/see profiles of,  we are MATURE women, have had a couple (more or less) of kids, our bodies aren't like a 20 year old's anymore and we are just plain TIRED.  Busy but fukn TIRED.

It is usually those that complain about chubby women that can't even get a chubby (boner) lol.

see the main page? put in a MAX weight/height search and voila.

grumble grumble yer an idiot.

My first thought was gee have you been watching TV or reading the newspaper!  America is heavier than it has ever been.   Having gotten a health kick last year, my son I have lost weight, he is thin now I am not but I am a lot smaller.  I will never be really thin.   However relating that to self-esteem, it is not just food that people turn to.   Now for my choice.   I have seen some really small men and women, and quite frankly I would be scared to paddle their ass afraid I might break a bone.   Likewise an extremely obese person I am worried about their heart.  
 
Life is all about  balance as is bdsm.  
 
In closing people can lose weight but you can't lose ignorance!

Traditionally by the time someone is able to come to grips with the 'dark side' of their desires, they are older. And we know that metabolism slows with age. Moreover submissive women reflect the make up of society in general, and modern American society (male and female) is now older and overweight.

Hmmm...interesting question. I'm losing my hair and my desire to own a convertible has increased. I thought it was a coincidence but now I'm not so sure.

and why not "chubby subbies"?   Do only thin subs qualify as sub?   Do only BbW's have self esteem issues ... if chubby subbies bother YOU then maybe it is YOU that have insecurity issues... i know that BbW is not to everyone's liking, that there does have to be chemistry,  but those mature types dont judge a book by its cover...   get to know us .. you may like us !!!

Everytime I go for a walk or bike ride I rarely see overweight people out biking or walking.
However, when I go to the Chinese "All you can eat" buffet I always see overweight people there.
What does that tell you?
Too many calories, not enough excercise.
A hundred years ago when people worked on farms and in factories no-one was overweight.
Long walks and keeping your mouth closed will cure this problem.

Well, hate to say it (and yes there is a huge double standard), but I do agree with the OP, in spite of the hypocritical views of the world.  I, at a size 16, am definitely in the 'chubby' side and have noticed that it is a lot easier to just be out and open about who I am, on all levels here.  (And it isn't just weight and sexual interests--I have hard political edges as well, and I just say 'this is who I am--deal with it' wherease in the nilla world I might try to be a little softer, less outspoken.) 

But, I would say, in my experience, and mine alone, I grew up chubby and it left me with a sense that there was something wrong with me--I needed to earn love.  I got early acclimation by what I did, not by who I was, and so I may try to please people with actions because that was an early path to acceptance, in part because of my weight.  (Wow!  Freud would be proud!)

Subs must be a politer breed than doms as i rarely if ever see subs post threads pondering chubby doms and why they are dominants, or if their big fat sagging bellies impede their getting blow jobs, or of their bald heads ever blinded a sub when the sun reflected off it, or if ...........   We just tend to keep those little tid bits to ourselves.
