ok- what will the human race be like in 100 years? in 20 years we seen some huge teck strides- what is in our future?

Presumably, you meant "tech" strides in reference to technological advances. As for humans, I'd like to see a natural immunity to STDs and women with bigger boobs.

Evolution generally takes place over numerous generations. For animals are large and complex as humans, with long generation cycles (compared to, say, a virus), evolution's a rather slow process. Probably just more gene mixing, anyhow. Inter-racial affairs are likely to be more common, largely due to new and cheaper means of travel, so the human races are likely to become increasingly mixed. Future? Probably replaced by AI's soon. Implants are pretty much a given in the next centuary- to what degree they are, meh. I pretty strongly doubt that the human animal will retain its apparent form over the next several hundred years.

i was thinking from survial of the fites gene pool- the bad jail boy- and slick wall street guy will prevail- with the brain power needed more then physical strength- maybe we will get shorter- no doubt teck will merge with the human body-

Better nutrition has increased the average height markedly over the last few hundred years, assuming we (as a species) get better at feeding ourselves then there's no reason to asume that won't continue to grow. If a large enough number of us do our reproduction in space or on the moon or mars then lower gravity may also have an effect on our species average height. However as CL pointed out, we'd need a bit longer than a century or two for evolutionary changes in the usual sense to happen.

We are already over harvesting the planet and not allowing it to replenish, at the same time we are over populating it, something has to give. Whatever happens the chances are that population will be drastically reduced or there will be vast numbers of dirt poor people, more than now. No doubt the rich will be richer and in their fortresses interbreeding with each other and producing mad and deformed offspring through incest. No rockets to Mars or anywhere else. No one can afford it because everyone had their heads in the sand when there was time to find the solutions that could solve the world's looming problems. Most people lived for today and let tomorrow take care of itself and it did which is why the world will be like I described.

interesting posts. on one hand obesity makes it hard to determine. consider that the past 40,000 yrs have been relatively violent and harsh-- no doubt someting will thin out the population....to say other wise defies history. many parts of the body can be replaced now- they are efven growing teeth i heard......

The utopian society in Star Trek evolved from a nuclear war. Only after that fact did humanity come together, FINALLY recognizing the need to selflessly work together in benefit of the whole, and not the individual. Only after we are taken to the brink of extinction, only then can we really, REALLY learn not to make the same mistakes. We must learn our lesson the hard way to really get it pounded into us. So, all we need is a nuclear war, and we're set.
