simple question. If you were the master and wanted to get a new slave.

AND DECIDED TO USE AN APPLICATION FORM

What questions would you put on the application form?

and after consideration of all applicants, many being equal

Which one question would determine whether the slave got to be interviewed for the post?

Hmmm...

My application forms: http://www.taggard.net/bdsm4me/longForm.html and http://www.taggard.net/bdsm4me/bdsm.old.html#short

Yeah, I am a freak.

As far as what question counts the most...it would have to be breast size. *wink*

I think the idea of an application is ridiculous unless you're just buying a body at auction or selling your body at auction...but this could be humorous

Describe all previous experience in relationships, vanilla and Ms

Describe the reason the relationships ended and current status

Describe your life situation in full- family, children, work, economic status, devotion to religion/spirituality

Describe your academic education

What are your strengths and weakness as a slave

Why are you filling out this form

What expectations do you have for your life in the next 5 years? 10 years?

What things do you need to remain in control over in your life?

For me the most important answer to consider would be "why"

If an aplication form floats your boat, great.

I'm more intersted in talking to a person, interacting with them, getting to know them and seeing what develops - I just couldn't see myself doing some kind of formal screening process.

No doubt though there are people for whom that kind of formality is appealing.

If I was a Master I would shoot myself before I would create, or use, an "application form."

If I was a...errr...person, I would shoot myself before I would ever post a message in which I would threaten to shoot myself.

(Oh no...I think I just invoked some trans-dimensional paradox!)

But it is nice that we have such open-minded folks on the board...

I could see the validity of it in a formal situation.

But only as a "filter". The rest would have to come from serious and open communication.

The most important question would be about how available for 24 7 service a girl was.

Hindrances to that would eliminate her.

A slave needs to be able to place a Master first.

I have 5 questions

1. Do you like chocolate?

2. Do you eat meat?

3. Which salad dressing do you like best?

4. What is your favorite flower?
Which is perfered more Roses or Dasies?

5. Who is your favorite Whinnie the Pooh Character?

Based on those answers and a little past history I know how are relationship would work out.

I'm entitled to a personal opinion, yes?

I didn't post that anybody else who would create, or fill out, such a thing should be shot.

Yet another problem with written applications, what should be clear can be so easily misundstood.

You are entitled to an opinion - that was just a particularly ill-mannered expression of an opinion.

Of course you are...as are racists, bigots, and anti-semites. The defense of "But it's just my opinion" doesn't do much against the charge of "you are a jerk for thinking that way". Not that I am accusing you of being a jerk...just rather closed minded.

My God, people, did someone release essence-of-bitchy into the air this morning? He's CLOSED-MINDED because he wouldn't use an application form? Think about what you're saying.

If I were looking for someone I'd want open communication and quite frankly handing someone a piece of paper is zero communication.

So, no application. Getting to know someone is the only way to go.

Sure, I could see certain criteria that I would want. I wanted my dom to have certain wants as well when I looked for him. I knew we needed to mesh in and out of the lifestyle in order to make it work.

I think it just depends on what you are looking for in a human being. Those are the questions you would ask, whatever they may be.

Yes. Obviously.

There is nothing inherently wrong with being closed-minded. I am pretty closed-minded when it comes to my own personal involvement in hot man-on-man action. He is closed-minded when it comes to filling out forms.

Of course, he did find a rather rude way of expressing his closed-mindedness and that is what inspired the responses...

I don't think he was particularly rude, and if having a preference means being closed-minded, the word "closed-minded" no longer means anything at all.

Hmmm...

"I would shoot myself before doing ______" = Closed-minded.
"I would prefer not to do _______" = Having a preference.

"I would shoot myself before doing ______" = Rather rude.
"Doing _______ is just not for me." = Not rude.

See the difference???
