Well a 5 minute/day personal pity party is okay, but anything beyond that is tiresome.

I do see that this went from someone not showing up to meet, to analysing that people have low self esteem and other such issues and disclosing about your past and deathly depressing uhhhhhhhhhh. stuff.

Just like a conversation in "reality". Who'd expect such a thing on the internet? (o.O)

I can't believe that by proxy, we are giving someone who didn't want to show up to meet you this much time and energy.

can you?

So what if she met and she still didn't want you?

This is the internet.  Would you except a facsimle of the pink slip car ownership too, a marriage cert? a birth certificate? did you lose plane fare $$? Did you actually show up and wait 3 hours? Did you break your leg showing up?

omg, someone hold me, having a nervous breakdown LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL

I now must ask, did you voice-verify or cam-verify that you were even talking to a female?

And you would be the self-appointed regulator of such things? (o.O)

Yanno, some days we just cannot have enough cheese and crackers around this joint.

Heres the deal.

A greater percentage of the people you are probably emailing are not the people they are portraying to you. That's just a fact of the i-net.

The reality of exactly WHO they are is as varied as you can imagine. Men pretending to be women. Women that are just looking for some online fantasy play to spice up their otherwise boring welfare or suburbia lives. Young women that THINK they are into this stuff but the reality is still wayyyyyyyyyy too scary to actually MEET one of those big bad dom guys! OR, they just decided they didn't really dig you.

All in all, I think getting your hopes up about anyone from the net is just foolhardy. Yeah, there are some really good stories of people that met and are now living the dream. Rather like the lottery, you keep buying the tickets, getting all dreamy about what you would do with those millions, the CRASH!!! the night comes and yes, someone won but damn,  it wasn't you. Now you gotta go back to work. Hello, reality check!! Well, such is life. You want to guarantee wealth, start working smarter not harder. You want to guarantee a good relationship, start meeting people in a way that grants you better odds......IN PERSON.

Get involved in your local community, meet like minded people.......etc etc etc...

Or, you can be like some of us and just get busy living your life and do so with the understanding that she may fall into your lap and you may be flogging her butt at age 95, and then again, you may be happily living that wonderful life all by yourself at age 95 without regret because you did what was best for you.

One thing is for certain, sitting on your ass, staring at a computer, all while hoping for a miracle and bitching and whining when you don't get it, sure as hell isn't going to get you anywhere AT ALL.

Of course.

Think I'd write this if I wasn't sure about something like that? (o.O)

Between you and Came4U I get the impression the only people you talk to are idiots, that you feel the need to ask questions with such obvious answers.

Neither of you seem to know how to talk with someone who is intelligent, articulate, and has his head on straight.

I don't know about you but I find immaturity to be a waste of my time, and I'm beginning to feel I'm wasting mine with the two of you.

oh meyow.. I wanted to say that but was being gulp as kind as I could lol.

quote:

Makes me a sucker for those who use hard-luck stories to lure me in.

I worry less about the people with issues than the type that tends to lure, entice or prefer/enjoy the down on their luck types with many issues sometimes.  I know of many men who dig that kind of gal. Why??? because she seems more needy, more insecure, more easily manipulated.  Then when she doesn't want the guy, all of a sudden she is not needy, you are insecure and you claim to be manipulated??

vicious circle indeed.

Maybe you fear a stable, secure woman without drama.  She might not need you enough or over-shadow you in esteem.

My friend the one lesson i have learned is you have to get the what ever attitude.. Alot of people are lost.. what htey think they want the do not and what they do not want they do lol shrugs by this mean in family, friends, job
people that have a great nature you can tell because everything in their life works for them.. You will have some subs that are scared. some that have massive moutians of emotional bagge. some that are new do not have a clue.. those evil out for them only ones. then the loving caring who have it on track.. you can tell by their enviorment they have a positive attitude towards things. these you want to treat as you would a plant add water give them sunlight and plant food. ( honesty comunication. devotion) it is an investment.. every dom or domme only knows what they can handle..
I wish you the best of luck on your journey... in the mean time have fun go out car shows do things that make you feel good for you.

No.

The "event" I spoke of would be the first face-to-face meeting.

Wow, I did not ask you to spend any time with me.  I'm reacting to what you are writing.  Perhaps you need to consider how you communicate.  And just because you think you are intelligent, articulate and have your head on straight, this does not mean that the general masses will reach the same conclusion.

"Yanno", I've been here three weeks, spoken with upwards of fifty people, have nothing to show for the effort thus far, and I post -one- topic about the heartache of watching people drift away, and it is characterized thus:

(o.O)

Do you people actually live in the real world, or is this it?

Are you so used to dealing with psycho personalities on the internet you've lost your ability to relate to real people in the real world, who sometimes express pain and sorrow but do not dwell on it?

I've lost a wife and a son in the past year. Is your connection with reality -really- so out of whack that you think the cutesy barbs have -any- impact at all?

This has always been a problem with bdsm boards: the drama queens take over and civil, mature discussion ceases to exist (unless it is between said drama queens, as they consider themselves de facto owners of the boards).

How boringly tiresome.

Twenty years and they still can't learn new tricks.

Time to bring out the block and use liberally.

Let's see:

10+ years with my wife, 7 of them married, 4.5 of them raising our son, .25 of them fighting the cancer that finally took her ...

Just who do you think you're describing again? (o.O)

again, you are not new to any of this, and starting something so easily interpreted as a whine will of course be treated as such.

Your loss, in real life has no impact on me except, I am sorry.  3rd time you have mentioned it.  Where did that come from?

I am not here to hold someone while in distress.

Drama queens?

uhg.

I didn't start this thread about people that don't show up, maybe she got creeped out that you wanted to be her saviour and found something creepy in it all. Who knows?

I don't own anything here, as you don't. But, making a comment in thread, NOT a question, expect others to comment also.

block away.

real mature LOL.

You've not arrived until you've been blocked and had it annonced publicly.  It's one of the higher forms passive-agressive behavior.

Highlights are mine.  Maybe you should consider seeing a grief counselor instead of dating on the Internet if you drained and hurt by it. It seems very soon.  Sorry for your loss.  I think as a woman, though, I would be hesitant to get into that kind of relationship so quickly with a man who just dealt with that.
