My back ground is in direct opposition to where I am today. I grew up in a very sheltered but extremely poor home. I did not graduate high school because I got pregnant the first time I had sex and was advised I was getting married. I was sixteen. Even with birth control I was pregnant again at age 18. Divorced and on welfare by age 23. Now you can toss all of your assumptions as to where I am now right out the window. I have a white collar job and do pretty well financially. Not rich, not poor. Since that age of 16, I have been very well off financially at times, and downright broke at others. I am happy with having free time to enjoy living life, therefor I don't feel the need to keep climbing any ladders. Materially I have way more than I need,, or ever imagined as that 16 yo girl. Oh, and as an aside. I do take alot of classes and study things that interest me. There is just nothing that drives me career wise, to give me a reason to push towards any degree.
