ORIGINAL: sappatoti If I may ask, when you choose to have a tatoo, are you choosing it because of a particular theme... because it simply looks cool... is there any specific reason or is each time different? I am 49, soon to be 50. I had never been interested in getting a tattoo, because it is permanent, and I could not imagine putting a mark on my body that would be there for the rest of my life. However, over the past several years, I've had to have several surgeries, which left permanent marks. Plus, with the Big Five-Oh coming up, I have recognized that time and life are making permanent marks on my body that I did not choose. So, I decided to put my own marks on me, things that were positive, and that I chose, and will enjoy seeing and showing off. I'd hate to turn my body in at the end of my life, and have folks think I didn't have fun in it. *grins* I am going to have more tattoos on my back, in a theme. It will be a garden, with bright flowers, and graceful vines. I will have the favorite flower of each of my family members on there, instead of their names.
