Just seeing the title of this thread over and over is annoying-I don't care what the grammatical rule is, it sounds stupid!

Sorry - but we're having far too much fun making fun of the idiots who claim to be native speakers that can't muster this simple phrase or the grammatical rules behind it.

That may be true LB, but I personally only date nouns that are modified by adjectives. I'm not kinky enough to date a verb, but as long as it's consensual I see no reason why others can't do so.

I just gotta say this--I enjoyed reading your first journal entry as much as your second, Ph0enixF1re.

[Now, I seriously considered revising that to read, "I just have to say this--" and then I considered revising THAT to say, "I have just this to say--" and then I thought about saying, "Let me say this about that..."--for all you Richard Nixon fans out there (and really, he doesn't look quite as bad as he once did, does he!). Would anyone like to take issue with my punctuation?]
