Status: offline 		Well, I'm *deliberately* focusing on the dark side... especially the icky squicky stuff. Because, even though America isn't officially an Empire, it has enough Imperialism going on to remind one of Claudius, Caligula and Nero...

In that climate, anything that is *not* news becomes cause for public scandal. And which is more newsworthy - the couple jacked in at home via their "O-box," or the serial pedophile murderer who uses the same toy to kill his victims? And since it's the same tech, BDSM gets drug into it even though it has nothing to do with it.

And yes, I'm inspired to write a story on this. There *was* one that I'd read called "Blue Boy" that was similar in theme, but I can't remember the author and I can barely even remember that the cover had a hhighly eroticized image of Kali on the front.<sigh>

Rope bondage has had a period of being the trendy thing (note: nothing wrong with that--it's nice to have more visibility for something I like to do), but surely that will decline a bit eventually. Around here, it seems like fireplay is emerging as the cool play to do, although that might be a local thing.

I seriously used to wish that i could have a holodeck. I would imagine that there would be a setting where one could get "hurt" without being physically harmed so that i could be hit without worrying about getting killed. And this was when i was....well...at an unmentionable age. hmmm..i guess i started liking all this earlier than i thought

Status: offline 		from my pov, the vanilla world is not workin. i mean generally speakin i dont feel any one is overly fulfilled. especially women. the men here in the bdsm generally are more aware of how to make a woman really orgasm. from wut i read anyway. i feel there is a lack of balance btwn women and men and i feel in the future we will come more into balance wif each other.

i wonder at times if bdsm does hold a better grip on the direction to move toward to balance it out.

for me to surrender my control to a man may seem like a small thing to most folks here, but to me it is pretty large. to find a man who is trustworthy enuf, and desirable enuf too, is no easy task. i turn my bod over to a man who has plans for me, wut he's gon do to me. and i let him cuz i really really want to.

in the end of it i hope i open up like a liquid rainbow and eventually he pats my arse sendin me on my way. well, ideally he wouldnt wanta see me go and we would end up in love like i always dreamed of.

for me, i am sensin bdsm wont be considered perverted or wutever words/judgments folks throw at it.

i feel that in the future women's sexual gratification will take ever-increasin new importance. men will compete to make their women flourish in the light that orgasm brings. embracing the health of it, the way it can actually turn individuals and our world around. women havin orgasms, big fat multi-dimensional orgasms is gon affect all of us. the intensity and pleasure/beauty will increase for all concerned.


i imagine it bein like, 'how does your garden grow' and the man is the gardener. we will see women blossom like they have not ever had the collective chance to. i feel the guilt wrapped around our sexuality will loosen it's death grip and we will be more free wif eachother. people will glow in a really pretty way.

Status: offline 		Electro torture is just in it's infancy, the types of equipment and monitoring systems will be really interesting for us amateurs.

I think targeted drugs will be used to enhance all sorts of sensations and activities.

Of course virtual worlds where you attach devices all over your body and then "scene" in a computer generated world complete with feeling all the sensations yourself may be the narcotic of the future.

Technology always has an input into our sexuality, bdsm is no exception.

Status: offline 		In the first-world, an increasing security concious environment is set up in the name of freedom, the surveillance culture is increased and allows ever more detailed scrutiny of our lives, including bedroom activities. This ability is hijacked my the moral religious right, who impose ever more restrictive laws against "immoral" behaviour. Ironically, copying the very people they are supposed to protect us from.

With less and less opportunity to practice BDSM and other kinks, third-world countries set themselves up as offshore havens for those needing an outlet.

Those havens that stay true, eventually find people settling there and the influx of intelligent, creative, lateral-thinking minds propels them into the first world far quicker than expected. Countries with climates that allow cattle farming and large rubber plantations to grow curiously get a head start.... New technologies perfected to cater for the BDSM trade, such as lifelike android "robo-dom(mes)" (tm)  allow them to sell hi-tech "servant-bots" to the rich first-world nations.

However, I expect at least one haven to go corrupt and threaten to expose clients in sensitive jobs in order to exploit it's position. Sudenly people's blackmail fantasies become a chilling reality.

A technological singularity in the form of devices that essentially replace most (all?) of the human activity needed to do this "thing".

A singularity of edge play in the form of extremism taken to a point just short of life-threatening, in all conceivable avenues of BDSM.

A singularity of people in the form of the BDSM world coalescing with the mainstream world so as to make either appear as the other.

If these things happen, I would hope that there would be a counter-reaction among some people to attempt to put more of the human (dare I say spiritual?) element back into this "thing".

In fact I am already trying to do this. Rather than consistently pushing the envelope of any of the above I would prefer to push the envelope of growing closer, as natural beings. I use BDSM as part of this, although I do not expect it to be the majority practice.

Sooner than you might think maybe - KBR has already built detention camps for the neo-con administration, and they command some 50K armed mercenaries and counting at the moment.
