a 3 piece Brooks Bros suit, Armini silken shirt, my favorite wing tip shoes says it pretty well

If you can't spell it, you shouldn't be allowed to wear it.

Aw, but you would look so cute. I like your avatar by the way.

Certainly understand why you don't though.

Aw thank you *blush*

I wear suits all day and that is quite enough for me.

And I actually do wear heels quite often (about 3 to 4 days a week), but they are just simple pumps, hardly sexy, but they work. They also cause me to tower at an amazing 6' 3" tall most of the time.......

S&M event, at the mall, in class, Mass, or the family reunion I will normally dress the same. Even if it's just shorts and a shirt I wear a belt. Not to mention, the shirt can have some sort of perversion on it such as the mimicing M&M shirt that reads S&M. There are all sorts of shirts you can find online if not at the Hot Topic that can idicate that there is something a little different or kinky about you. So far, my trench coat seems to attract the most attention. Unfortunatly, I live in Hotter than Hell TEXAS and only get to wear it about 14 times at the most on a good year of cold fronts.

But remember one thing, actions speak louder than words or appearance in your case

geargirl -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (7/18/2005 2:38:49 PM)

my master looks great in his blue jeans and white sneakers or his all black or nothing at all. Mmm yeah...nothing at all

Fawne -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (7/18/2005 4:36:37 PM)

TY faramir
A custom made suit does it for me. Cutesey t-shirts don't say Dom to me at all. Power, manifested in the real world is my taste.

ScooterTrash -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (7/18/2005 4:39:25 PM)

Hmm...I suppose a Harley shirt, jeans and steel toes boots aren't exactly a fashion statement...lol. I might try the flogger on the belt idea, that's sounds good (winks at Emerald), actually I think I did that somewhere. Seriously though, there are several BDSM oriented shirts on the market as well as the Jewelry mentioned, if someone was really interested in advertising. We have a BDSM emblem on the Tour-Pak of our bike...seems nilla folks don't know what it is ("look at the cute emblem") while those in the know...well, they know.

boundandleather -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (7/18/2005 7:07:02 PM)

Interesting topic . . . . I would dress up a little for the public appearence with black pants red shirtand a leather vest but in the comforts at the dungeon bare foot shorts or sometimes naked.

Don't dress like a waiter. No togas. No gladiator outfits. Don't dress like Jesus. It's ok if you try naked, but it has its hazards.

Master63 -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (7/19/2005 6:30:34 AM)

isn't it always the same - we think we look dominant *laughs

more often than not we look the same as everyone else - cliches aside

as to what to subtly wear to attract the attention - perhaps handcuff cufflinks, the bdsm symbol as a necklace etc

Faramir -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (7/19/2005 8:50:28 AM)

Today I'm wearing a custom made black suit from Tom James*, white BB shirt and a puple BB tie w/ small, delicate blue butterflies.

I FEEL LIKE A MASTER!!!!

*NOT that I think they are the acme of clothiers - but they are damn convenient.

swiadom -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (7/19/2005 2:38:31 PM)

Well EmeraldSlave2.. Thank you for pointing out my spelling short commings. Fortuantely, in R/L, I do have minions who takes care of this daily linguistic drudgery. I can see, that with your keen eye for detail, you would would be an excellent proof person for someones staff. [8D]

LOL ... just "spit balling"

Jayxkes -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (7/20/2005 4:24:55 AM)

I have a t shirt, black with 'A kiss is just a kiss, but a whiplash lasts til morning' in white. That works pretty well [;)]

I also have a vanilla, commercial necklace that looks similar to, but is not, a BDSM symbol. That attracts a fair amount of interest both vanilla and from those into BDSM. It has been the start of many conversations.

I'd have thought it fairly unlikely that a submissive would walk up to someone wearing a 'dom emblem' at a public event and say Hi I'm into this or that fetish. Ater all, just about everything you could wear to say you are a dom, is likely to also be worn by those who are not! (I even know a vanilla who wears the same t shirt I have!!).

My choice is to talk to anyone who interests me. As the converstaion develops, there is usually some indication that the other person has an interest.

It depends precisely what I’m doing. I’m likely to dress appropriately, especially when in my professional capacity…. Any one who knows me knows I’m Alpha anyway and I know who and what I am which is what really matters. I just have a preference for wearing all black.

OscarHargraves -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (8/16/2005 10:34:34 PM)

Why don't you just BE a Dom and not worry about the dress-up stuff? Is it all that important what you look like to some stranger across the room? If you ARE a Dom then people will know (or find out) and if you are a pretender then they will know or find that out too. Just be real and be yourself, afterall, the only one who REALLY needs to know is your own Sub, right?

Oh, and the pic of Angelina Jolie may be a turn-on for you but it DOES give the wrong impression here I think........

Hallittlelolita -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (8/18/2005 7:55:28 PM)

To me my Master wears his hemp Bob marley shirt and cargo shorts LOL it dosent matter to me what he wears it's not outside that counts but the inside and how you carry yourself. It shouldn't matter what you wear, if you're a Dom you're Dom. There is no if's and's or but's about it period.

Sincerely, slave andie and Master Hal

IronBear -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (8/19/2005 3:59:52 AM)

“Hey, you there!!!! See that guy over there near the bar, dressed immaculately in a designer suit and gold and diamond rings in his fingers? He’s not a Master but a posser, a wannabe. Now look across the room and see that bearded guy verging on looking a tad scruffy, plain black pants and a black t-shirt, with a gaggle of subs standing about him with a glazed expression on their faces and hanging onto every word he utters? That is a Master! Can’t you feel his presence emanating from him? He doesn’t need baubles to show people what he is, everyone can feel it.”

If I am in ratty shorts and a torn t-shirt, no one mistakes me for anything other than a dominant. If I am wearing my kilt and carrying a sword, people cross the street...lol.

But if you have to ask the question, you are likely not going to convince anyone you are ready to assume the "top" position to anyone.

Ahhhh...this is so true.

We would go to LA social, which during the summer months would be somewhere between 100 and 200 people, and watch all the Uber Doms walking aroud in black leather. So Master and his group of friends decided to start showing up in Hawaiian shirts. Trust me, there was no doubt that they were Dominant.

Clothes might add to the man, but they don't make the man.

To the OP: I tend to think it won't matter what you wear in vanilla public. I've found that most subs won't approach a Dominant at a social, munch or fetish event, so I tend to doubt they'd do it in general public.

Part two of that is that I don't discuss my sex life with people I don't know. So, if someone I didn't know approached me in vanilla public, I'd walk away. Matter of fact, I've gotten comments on my Eternity Collar, and I tell them it's a piece of jewelry my husband gave me for my birthday. My personal life is not there to be their jack off material.

I've found the best way to meet people is to be involved in your local BDSM and D/s group.

greeneyedangel -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (8/19/2005 10:07:23 AM)

i don't think anyone has to advertise who they are. As long as Y/you know who you are, that is all that matters.

slavedesires -> RE: OH, so THAT's what a master looks like! (8/20/2005 12:47:29 PM)

Everyone is commenting on Alpha's avatar..... what about Taggard's?
does he look like a dom?
walk like a dom?
talk like a dom?
have testosterone like a dom?
is that a cane in his hand ready for use?

just messing with ya Taggard.............
*wonders if ya got tats

Once i text messaged my Dom saying...omg, i think i see a D/s couple. i recognized the dynamic.
I went to one event in Chicago and a couple walked in the front door...a hush went over the crowd. I cant remember his name anymore but he was as famous in the Chicago scene as seeing John Warren posting around here. He was nothing to look at, dressed in casual slcks and a nice pressed shirt...........it was his slave the impressed me the most!!
The dynamic was positively one of D/s, M/s......btw, she wore NO jewlery of any kind.
Once when i was with a Dom we were at the market and he turned to me and said... "now she is a submissive."

Costume jewlery is made and sold for 1.00 to 10000.00 and none of it means the girl is collared....in my sister's shop she has awesome necklaces hand made that would genuinely pass as collars.

When at an event, why does one have to look like something?

An individual being themselves in talk, manner and actions says alot.

edited to add...Noddy is submissive to Big Ears [:D]
