Main reason I dont like it as a top is that if you are just a little off your sub walks around with a black eye for a couple of weeks. My wife got a black eye from SM play, I was accused of abuse more than once, some were kidding when they said it, some were not.

i'm talking about the palm of an open-hand slapping my face and head, not a fist or nuckles. i'm not saying it can't happen but, i have never had a black eye or a fat lip or any other injury from an open-hand slapping me, no matter how hard. lonlyrossInNeed, i hope your hair gets long enough so that it can be wrapped around the fingers, when pulled. That is an awesome feeling. There is no slippage, just straight pulling and tugging. Hair pulling . yessssssssssssssssss. Master has me straddle Him facing away then He takes my very long hair (<you can see in my profile ) and ties my wrists together behind my back with it. He thens pulls me till my back arches . subspace? more like out of my mind. He does wrap His free hand with my hair when slapping me with open palm. never a mark, but then i'm kinda dark .

I don't like it. For some reason, in my mind I can't dissociate face slapping from unkind slapping, and if it were to become bruised I would worry about my job. If you like it, have fun :). cp55

I've never had my face slapped in the context of 'play'. I have had it slapped when my Master has been angry at me. I don't see it as abuse - i see it as any other kind of punishment only without preperation or anticipation.

A few months ago I had to have a molar pulled out....somehow while the dentist was yanking out the tooth, the side of my face got massivly bruised and swollen.....I walked around with a huge purplish greenish yucky bruise on the side of my face for over a week... I swear...it was the DENTIST...but almost no one believed me...I had strangers walking up to me in the grocery store giving me numbers to battered womens shelters...and everytime I'd say no, its from getting my tooth pulled...Id get that "oh hunny you dont have to lie about it"....

No, no face slapping for me either. Frequent face slappings from a parental unit as a kid is probably what caused the extreme distaste for it now...I was a very smart mouthed kid, can you imagine? If someone slapped my face I'd slap back.

I love it but can't partake in it at present. A slight accident broke one of my teeth [:'(] lol. Edited due to bearlees response. Although yes my tooth was broken i already had a crack in it and it was just an ill timed, ill placed slap. I was talking and the blow caught me a little low causing my teeth to crash together. It didnt hurt and it was in no way abuse.

Face slapping, like punching, needles and knives, used to be a hard limit. I was new, once too! LOL As a kid, my siblings and I were slapped in the face a lot; one brother has the broken ear-drums to prove it. It was awful...then. Now, I just wonder if people are keeping in mind that EVERYTHING is relative. Just what do some of you imagine face-slapping is? I will tell you that the kind of face slapping I have come to adore is when one side of my face is cradled in his hand, while his other delivers a well-considered smack. This smack does not come from across the room, or with a full wind-up; it is sharp, but more focusing than painful, really. My cheek might be red for several minutes but such a blow would NOT knock teeth out, break cheek bones or blacken an eye! Insulting, several said? What the heck is wrong with a little humiliation? I'll tell ya what...while my eyes might water, I sure do get focused! OMG, and subspace....? !!! Grinzzzzzzzzzzzzz, bearlee
