ORIGINAL: Estring For all you so called "freedom" lovers, shouldn't a private enterprise have the right to run their business any way they see fit? If you don't like the way they do business, don't shop there. Seems simple to me. PRIVATE? Sure. But an Artificial Legal Entity, like Costco? Nope. You see, the difference is that when Costco BEGGED The State for permission to Incorporate, they AGREED to go by the State's REGULATION, rather than just the Law, as us REAL PEOPLE must concern ourselves with obedience. It's *EXACTLY* the same as your car. You OWN your car, so in THEORY, you have an absolute right to do with your PROPERTY as you choose. HOWEVER, you have AGREED to go by a stricter standard, that of the VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS. You agreed when you signed the registration and license forms. Costco AGREED to be The People's Bitch, when they filed the Articles of Incorporation with the Secretary of State's office. Costco IS NOT, and NEVER WILL BE equivalent to a "Mom and Pop Store" ( ignoring for a moment the issue of the M&P store's OWN status as an Artificial Legal Entity -- which they *don't* *necessarily* are, but in practice, likely are... )
