Whether the individual lives or dies is in the hands of Allah.

There is a nihilistic tendency which underlies the beliefs of Islam.  Since the individual lacks all control over
their future, whether one lives, dies, kills, etc., becomes pointless to consider in terms of positive or negative
outcomes.

Things will happen as Allah wills it, therefore what I as the individual does is essentially justified or rationalized
to arrive at the conclusion I personally wish it to be.  If Allah did not wish me to think this way, he would not
have willed me to think the way that I do.

p.s.  This sort of self-rationalization is fairly common among the True Believer crowd, regardless of their own
personal team jersey.  I am simply pointing it out in context with this thread about OBL and Islam.

Status: offline 		A minority listen to him. However, with Islam being the 2nd largest religion, and the fastest growing, in the world, a minority seems like a hwole lot.

As for converting to Islam: I'm an Atheist and damn happy about it.

Status: offline 		That's more like determinism than nihilism, and there must be more to Islamic theology than that.  If all is as Allah wills, then Allah doesn't give a fuck whether I convert to Islam or not.  In fact, Allah must desire that I NOT convert to Islam; otherwise I would have converted already.

I have never heard of such blasfumy and to be honest with you that makes me now question the other things you say.  I do understand the point you were trying to make, but the reality doesn't seem to match up with your saying, either politically and socially.



NorthernGent stated we have had socialist governments, not a Nation which you are saying. To think medicine was the only socialist policy to take effect since the conception of the labour party is very simplistic. The deaths in Algeria were caused by a civil war and not by there being a socialist state.

Status: offline 		You know what I do my own research, and while there are propaganda pitfalls, it seems your playing the other spectrum of the political party line. 

When someone claims something it is that persons responsibility to back it up.  For instance if I claim the moon is made out of cheese, and no one else believes me I have to verify it and bring out the evidence.  If I don't then I end up being the one spewing propaganda.

On the other hand if its pretty much common knowledge that the earth has gravity (unless were trying to prove how it works) we take it for what its worth.

Other then socialized medicine please show me where either country was socilist. 

I have already researched both nations to a decent exstent and have never seen that claimed to have occured.

There are two reasons why I never heard this.  Also realize that I have studied the movement of communism and Russian culture, I think I probably would have run across this.

1.  You have fringe beliefs not held by anyone in the world of international politics as valid.

2.  I just didn't come across this narrow band of knowledge. 


I will refrain sluring at this point, and I have a bad habbit of doing that so if I offend you I apologise, but I think your blowing smoke up alot of peoples posteriors.

While this is true on the face of it, the vast majority of Muslims live in Indonesia.

It is a significant minority who are the nutcases in the middle east.

Well, perhaps.

Although, how many Christian groups have engaged in wholesale slaughter and bigotry against the infidel in
support of a church which preaches brotherhood and love?  Not to pick on Christians, this sort of thing seems endemic among certain religions.

Perhaps I misspoke and it is less something taught by Islamic scriptures and more something about how the Muslims in the Middle East have interpreted those scriptures.

Britain has had nationalised industries across the board: coal, steel, railways etc. Try reading around Britain of 1931, or Britain of 1945, and France is on an altogether different plane. Your teacher could do with stepping up a gear or two.

Status: offline 		The Prophet Mohammed before calling for jihad sent out an offer to the infidels to embrace Isalm. If they did not, jihad began. It is still part of the Islamic religion regarding jihad to invite to join them first, if not wage a holy war.

One can wonder if this is not what Bin Laden is doing in this most recent tape.

Maybe because Osama may not be that important in the overall scheme of things.

A president who thinks Iraq is more of a threat to America than Al-Qaeda obviously doesnt consider Osama too much of a threat.

Maybe Osama was just a pawn in the overall scheme of things which is to create a sense of fear in the American people.
