I used to bottom, then I switched, now I find myself most attracted to topping. But really, I've found that my bottom line isn't really my sexual orientation, as I previously thought. For a serious partnership, it's chemistry, compatability, communication, and shared goals and views on life. I mean, if I feel strong chemistry for a guy, I'm gonna WANT him, regardless of how we end up. I have a very strong personality, and could be considered a dominant persona, but I think it's possible that I could come to a loving long term thing with a bottom, a top OR a switch, despite my interest in "loving manipulation". My bottom line is that I need to be with a partner who is dominant in vanilla life: confident, healthy, goal oriented, and well balanced. I want a partner who can bring an equal amount to the tabla as myself. The chemistry, I feel, takes care of the sex.

Does anyone here identify with the concept of a "Dominant submissive"? What I mean by that is simply a person who is very strong, confident, etc...in their day to day life, but likes to botom or submit in the context of a romantic relationship. I, for one, can't stand men who identify as sexually submissive, and ACT submissive all the time. Big turn off.

Yes, Lily, Midori does a class that deals with the idea of dominant submissives, and service tops..........there are so many permutations to submission and dominance, it's sad that some feel that they have to fit into only one stereotype.

(personally, I can't stand the crawlers and grovellers.......but hey! that means more companions for those that do want them!)

I've always considered myself a bit of a service top (though it really isn't much more then being a gentlemen, for the most part). I open doors, hold out chairs, and I like to pay for things for the women in my life. I respect how folks want to be as well, and I would never try to change their essential natures or kinks. But I go along with "Can't stand" as a personal preference.
