ooOO  I completely didn't mean it as a critizism what so ever, and I hope you didn't take it that way, liljoy.  I was just saying I am not a pain slut, -but- I do participate in some extreme things as a form of service for me.  For whatever reason, I don't do bad.  I scream and kick and cry sometimes, and I don't go into "sub space", but for whatever reason I am compelled to try the best I can. 

I do not know my limits in that aspect, although I am sure with someone like Fifth Angel I would find some...lol.  You may very well be able to take more than I can...pain is subjective...*winks*.

Again, I didn't mean it as a slam.  Almost every time I have "scened" or "demo'ed", I've done so out of service as I'm not owned and don't have that special connection with someone to learn how to love many aspects of what I have thought of since I was 14.

i didn't take it as a criticisms by you at all. i just really do wish my threshold would eqaul my desire to please.
Master is a Sadist and gets great pleasure out of causing me pain. As much as i would like to take more to increase His pleasure i still have limits on what i can endure. we are working on increasing that though so it's all good

Dear liljoy, Ladies and Gentlemen;
 
As a Sadist myself, I can only speak for myself however; I would not put my slave into a position of pain in which they did not really enjoy it also.  It is the quality of slave I have that is the most important thing to me and that the mere fact that slave endures what they can for my personal pleasure.  As soon as my slave isn't having fun anymore or is suffering this internal dialog you seem to have--wishing to be 'able' to endure more but cannot--you are seeing yourself a lower quality than I would ever, ever see you sweet lass.
 
As a Sadist, I have made it my mission to teach my slaves how to take more pain but, it is through positioning the body in a way that helps radiate the pain and not keep it local.  There are many ways to sabatoge yourself and or the Master's pain.  Although it addresses caning, if you Google Lady Hugs Caning; there will be a web site that has a two part section about caning and if you look at the positions section; you can see how much the body position can help or hinder your experiences.  This can then be used and you can prove these out on your own to be truthful and or factual.  If you have a long mirror, dressing mirror or something that is waist upwards and a hand mirror you can move your shoulders back as one section of the position of the presentation on caning; you can see how the spine falls and the meat of your muscles come up and cushion the blows for yourself.  It really is amazing how the body works. [Smiles]
 
All I can add is, that it would be an honor to have the spirit you have as a slave.  Your Master is most lucky indeed.

Then what we have is a difference in definition of Sadist. Another example of the communities willingness to accept 9,867,658,734,597 definitions for a single word, many of them conflicting, as entirely correct.

Fifth Angel uses the very much textbook definition of Sadist as opposed to the more PC BDSM definition.
One who enjoys and finds arrousing inflicting suffering. Granted consent and willingness to suffer the pain makes a huge difference to consensual Sadists, but if the suffering isn't "real" then in the definition he uses (and I concure with his view) it's not really sadism. This is not to say the bottom does not get satisfaction from providing the service of a person willing to suffer real pain, just that the pain itself not the direct cause for that satisfaction.

My Top 5:
5 - Greydancer, via ropecast. Great mix of humor and info.
4 - Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Yup - the "City Lights" cat. Keeps referring to dominating and submitting between world and word. Makes me wonder enough to keep my mind open on what all is involved in WIITWD. Combine with having a great lyrical touch to even his everyday speech, and it's worth going out to see him.
3 - Jack Yount. Mostly for hearing him talk about surgical play and how it differs from straight body modification. Combine with doing 1-on-1 q&a over cocktails and it was pretty damn cool knowing that guy.
2 - MorTis (tied with) Midori . I've only heard either 1 time... I'd prefer to have a greater sample size to make a determination from.

Just as a side note, because I am sure it has been beatened to death on these boards and I don't have the time to go look for it, but my idea of a sadist is the in line with what Archer said, but I do understand liljoy wishing she could take more.  A sadist will take them beyond what they can endure, but they aren't going to break their toy either.  I think what she wishes is that she could take more so he could go farther without "breaking her".  She wishes she could please him more.

I want to scene with an actual sadist at some point, I'm very stubborn about a safe word.  Master Z from Texas had me kicking and screaming and made my ass look like chopped beef just from his hand... I guess part of me wonders what it would take to say "red" when it's pure pain.

I've seen Greydancer several times and he's a great person as well as a fun, knowledgable presenter. I can second (third? etc) recommending him, certainly.

Mortis is definitely a very experienced rigger and has done a lot to help the rope community. From teaching basics to more advanced suspension, workshops with Mortis are absolutely worthwhile.

i've had the privilage of seeing Archer and Elegant this weekend do a presentation..i loved it.  i also got to see Fifth Angel a few months ago.  he is NOT getting near me with any needles. lol   saw Boomer also but he didn't do the single tail presentation at that time....that was the next day and i couldn't stay for that.  sighs,  oh well, perhaps next time.

just a small note to any one who is interested, bridget harrington is happily called lee these days[;)]


and femcar was at a very intimate event here on the islands this weekend, i love her as a person, love/hate the shows (which is the point) but i personally dont really see her teaching about humiliation persay, the way other presenters do, as in, indepth study, history ,context...but her classes are more preformance art...

thank you for pointing that out.  I called him Lee, as my group's President told me that is what he is going by now instead of Bridgette. 

I will get to meet Lee, maybe Phantom and Femcar, and I sent Dale Sir an email inviting him to present as well but I haven't heard back yet (knew he would be in Hawaii though).  I am -really- hoping he comes because I've wanted to see him for over a year.

It sounds like you had an awesome time!

yeah it was.

the events we have here are really amazing kalika, i hope you can come next year, we want folks to come and experiance this.

Kalani, is a small , deep in a jungle resort. the retreat is owned by gay men who let us run around naked, and be ourselves.
the sleeping teaching rooms are (hales) wood structures with no windows just screens, some of the class time is done hanging out around the pool, and because the classes are so intimate it more like hanging out with freinds.

the play party is a tent like structure in a bannana feild, where the screams and moans are actually drowned out by crickets and coqui frogs, and the food that comes with your 90 dollar a night stay is three meals of amazing  fresh from sea or right from the organic garden, cusine.

the focus of the event ison folks that like to explore bdsm as a spiritual pratice, with an emphasis on art and cathartis. and because the class size is tiny you get one on one with any presenter your drawn to.

the presenters can really let thier hair down too and you get to see all sides of them. i spent several hours in the hot tub with femcar and Lee, made home picked quacamole with master skip picking on me the whole time lovingly, and it was awesome to hang out with dale ( fith ange) curled up around katies knee, all smilely and adorable...

we really want folks to come to this event next year, we know it takes money and planning, but we want to share what we have here, the healing, the learning, the aloha, and the ohana (family spirit)

Midori, Fifth Angel (almost made me vomit in his power to the little people, also saw is proposal to his now wife in AZ), Dossie Easton, Master Skip Chasey, Master Conrad and slave Kat, boymeat, Lee Brigett Harrington,  and of course my all time favorite because I use his tech for inner thigh torture..lthredge....

As you can see I travel to a conferance at least 1 time a month.  Rio Grande here I come...

It looks amazing, and I've never been to Hawaii...perhaps I can manage it next year if I'm still single (wont' be my choice if I'm not).  I really would love to see the spiritual part of it...especially as it's something I have hoped to expand my knowledge on.
