That is David Brocks site and I have aalready compared his audio to one from a station that aira Rush. The stations version, ran through my cakewalk to check for sharp drops, meaning deletions had one, the one from the Brock site had three. I am not an audio forensic examiner, but know enough to see it shows a cut from the audion. I am sure you woud like to believe the Brock site, but that is your choice. You're being dismissed from the party for having the bad form to oppose The Party Line.

HELL, the mp3 encoder could have hiccuped transcoding the original wav file. Did you check for adaptive encoding artifacts, while you were at it? I don't know what relevance they would have had, but you apparently had a lot of time to waste. Are you suggesting they made up Rush's dismissal of the Republican Vet against Occupation with the statement that he, (Rush) walked on the moon? Are you suggesting they made up Rush's statement that anyone Republican who opposed the occupation was a Phony Republican and Crazy? Which brings us back to this: Are you a Republican who doesn't support the occupation, and if so, how do you feel about Rush throwing you out of your own party and calling you crazy? THAT is why they're freaking out as hard as they can about the VoteVets AD. As long as they argue about "Phony Soldiers", the Republicans who Disagree won't notice they're being expelled from the party, although their checks will still get cashed. How does it feel to be tossed out of your party for disagreeing with the President's course of action?

I realize the reasons for some audios not match properly from different sources. I do not believe or disbelieve either audio, because both are pretty messy. Actually if I were to have someone alter it, they would be able to do so without the sharp drops that show deleting, which are usually cutting out things such as commercials or related "noise". Knowing the technology out there, even though I am limited in it's use because of specific knowledge, a cleaner audio of a show, is actually a good indication of more advanced altering. None of this can be used to affirm the reasons why any audio may be altered, but the fact that both audios have been altered, makes be doubt both of them. This is another way to cause strife between two sides though. The strife has no meat, because Rush is not running for office. I would be more likely to pay attention to it, and dig even deeper, if it were a candidate making those comments. Why get caught up on this, when there are so many politicians that we can put under the magnifying glass? Orion

Because of the REAL MESSAGE. Rush is saying that if you disagree with Bush, then YOU ARE A CRAZY, PHONY REPUBLICAN. In a way, it's kind of good for Rush that people are pissing and moaning about the soldiers, rather than listening to the real message. You are no longer a Republican if you disagree with Bush.

I have listened to his broadcast on occasion. I have disassociated myself from any party, though I lean more conservative or libertarian (notice the small "L"). I do listen to Boortz show when I can, he seems to blast Reps and Dems alike sometimes, though even his show is biased. I am about 30/70 on agree/disagree with the current admin. I look at specific policies and the effect, rather than via partisan lines. It still troubles me about the indicment thing you brought to my attention months ago, so I am alot more skeptical and dig deeper, when looking into issues the admin is involved. If Rush called all soldier that disagree with the war "Phony Soldiers" then he is a prick for doing it. If he did not and it is taken out of context, or misrepresented in some other way, then I consider that unethical and possibly criminal. As it stands it is difficult to find verafiable sources. It tends to take a certain amount of faith in the source, which I have little faith in either party. or any politician. I still feel that this is alot of distraction from other things. No I do not remember it, because it had no direct effect on anything. It is two entertainers arguing about something that neither of them get to vote in. Instead, I looked at how the votes have fallen in the House and Senate on such things. I usually ignore people that are just red herrings for the issues and people that vote on the issues. A recent poll asked if celebrity endorsement influenced how you vote, and the results were a landslide of NO. Why do I want to pay attention to distracting things? Hmm, I listened to your edited clip on the Media Matters rebuttal site. In the second call he went with no break into discussing Macbeth. I realise you support Murtha convicting marines before they have trials, but to many of us it negates the respect he should get as a vet, he is just a lying politicain now, and fair game for any criticism.

On your rebuttal page it uses several variations (I guess they have to keep repeating it to make the page pretend to have more information) of this ", and at no point on that show prior to making his "phony soldiers" comment did Limbaugh refer to any actual fake soldiers. Additionally, on September 28, Limbaugh misrepresented those comments." Note they use the words "that show", because he did talk about Macbeth the previous day.

You know, this would all be solved if Rush was required to have a point/counterpoint format. I loved the Point/Counterpoint format. He couldn't HAVE a PRO-OCCUPATION soldier on without having an ANTI-OCCUPATION soldier on AT THE SAME TIME, and giving the Anti-Occupation soldier equal time for a rebuttal of every statement made by the Pro-Occupation soldier. Isn't that the definition of "Fair and Balanced"? Of course, then Rush would only be a moderator, and not the Star of the Show. I don't think his fragile ego could take that.

Orion, and the whole idea is silly..It makes the assumption that there are 2 sides. There are a variety of positions on both the Anti and Pro War sides, as there are on any issue. Farg's idea would require an Authority to decide what the sides are and who gets to represent them. Why should a flat earther get rebuttal time everytime a commentator says the earth is round? This really makes a mockery of his pretending to be a constitutionalist.

For a REALLY LONG TIME, it worked thusly. The Producers of a show would do their damnedest to make sure every viewpoint got an equal hearing, because enough FCC complaints would get their license pulled, really fucking up their business plan. Worked really really well, I think.
