'wheres waldo'

oo man, I must have looked at that picture sooo fast I missed seeing THAT. I saw the 'picture' and recognized it as one I had seen before and closed it probably in under a second.  EEssh waldo? that is in bad taste indeed. No, not funny at all.
The only reason I saw it was that it loaded from the top and that's where waldo was. Then I blinked, it was fully loaded and I was ticked off.

The News said that this guy was 20 years old.
That's too young in my opinion to be a cop.
I remember how I was at 21, 22, 23, etc.
I think the minimum age for a cop should be put up to 25.
And Ken, yes, there are a lot of other countries with much more gun violence than the U.S.
The Phillipines for example.

update:

"The rampage raised questions in the remote northern Wisconsin community about how Peterson could have met requirements to become a law enforcement officer. No psychological testing was performed, but he had undergone other background checks and completed all required training by the state, authorities said."

Unfortunately in really small rural areas they take whatver certified law enforcement they can get sometimes as they pay is not usually competitive.

Whoa! This link was taken down. Or rather now it says I don't have permission after I have already visited it. I'd appreciate an explaination from a mod of why.

First of, let me say that I found your "Bravo Officer-Killing-Spree. Bravo." to be in very poor taste. A subsequent post of yours led me to consider that you were being sarcastic and that I mis-judged you. If that is the case, you have my apologies. Anyway, I was feeling snarky about your (apparent) insensitivity and was basically slamming you for it by directing you toward that thread which was definitely an example of extremely poor taste. I’ll not go into details but will just say that some dim bulb – in his very first post to the CM boards no less – thought it would be funny to make a joke at the expense of Holocaust victims. Several people, myself included, let him know that nobody around here would "appreciate" his sense of "humor." Several of us also predicted that the Mods would remove the thread (it was an easy predication to make – it really was the product of a sick mind). I am actually glad to see that the Mods did remove it.

I do agree with you, though, that whenever the Mods remove a thread they should make a general announcement as to why and not leave people wondering what happened.

My comment was in poor taste but deliverately so. Sometimes people deal with tragety with sarcasm. I do hope people didn't think I was serious. I don't think mods owe me an explaination per-se I was just concerned. I thought the pic might be infected of something. - Peace

Laurell3, yes, unfortunately that's true.
I just don't think that most 21 year olds have enough life experience and maturity to do that job.
They should probably join the military first.

laurell3 -> RE: Six dead in US shooting spree (10/8/2007 5:41:49 PM)

The standard here is a full military tour or prior law enforcment experience, but then again, I'm not sure they can afford to be that selective in some places.

I too have been deliberately sarcastic on the boards and have had it misinterpreted. The problem of course is that with the written word you don’t have that sarcastic tone of voice to tip people off. Misunderstandings happen sometimes – honesty is the solution.

Peace.

"The Oconto County Sherrif's Department is saying that the gunman, who has been identified as Tyler Peterson, who is a Forest County Sheriff's deputy, has been shot and killed," he said.

" But, he said, Peterson lost control when the meeting ended in an argument and other people started ridiculing him as a "worthless pig.""

Well, I hope this is a lesson that you shouldn't call people "worthless pigs" unless you know they don't have an AK-47 in their car.

I believe the guns laws that we have are sufficient.  Unfortrunatley, I don't believe that they are adequately enforced.   Creating another law that won't be enforced will do nothing to protect society or anyone.

Second, disarming the police will only put leathal weapons in the hands of others and the incidence of police death through violent means will increase (my opinion).

I think everyone being armed is the best route and in the constitution it does make one exception only for the right to bear arms and that is a person who is in jail.  Without looking it up I think they used the phrase every "free" man or something slong those lines.  I would make one exception to that only and that is those who are clinically... I hate to use the word insane but unstable.  Aside from that there should be absolutely no infringement, (which a license is) to the ownership of "arms".

Case in point: switzerland.
