well i am a complete newbie also but you have to remember to use common sense first and foremost. Remember the old saying that if something seems to be too good to be true, it probably is. Take your time getting to know someone and don't give away your total trust until it is earned.

This lifestyle does not revolve arround sex. Sex was incoriperated into it. how many times have you gone to a public play party where there was no sex?????????  I know plenty of married people that there spouce has full knowlege of what they are doing and meet's the other person. It is a shame when you think that the S in BDSM stands for SEX.

Status: offline 		On the same token, why are so many Subs untruthful?  It works both sides.  I guess some people are just out there looking for a good time and a way to masturbate and don't realize that a lot of people actually take this lifestyle seriously.  I would just say to either be cautious or learn not to care until a good ammout of time has passed by.  We all have strike outs.  It's a part of life, I guess.

Newsflash, their's no difference between meeting someone here and meeting them somewhere else. People lie and claim they are partners in law firms to impress others instead of admitting they work in the mail room. Both online and off. They claim to be earning more money, to have traveled to far off places, and Newark NJ doesn't count, and they never did.

The more you know about exactly what you need and what you can't abide, the faster and more accurately you can screen others for compatibility. But just because they aren't compatible doesn't mean they aren't real. I imagine they're whining to their buddies about how you aren't a 'real' submissive right now.

The classier option is to say that you don't feel as though you are compatible. Thank them for coming to meet you for coffee and then leave with a smile.

I wonder if a T.V show which weekly protrays African Americans or Jewish peopleand or others as murderers, thiefs, ,unfathful husbands, and uneducated idiots would stay on the air very long.
While I found the Sopranos to be great T. V., I ask anyone to give me an example of an Italian American who is presented in a positive light. Personally, I can only think of Columbo (who was on years ago and was a bumbler , unkemptand generally regarded by other characters as a fool.).

Why is anyone dishonest? People are people, regardless of what orientation or title they might carry.  As such, they are subject to any of the number of character flaws and failings that people tend to have.

My advice? Slow down. Take more time to actually get to know people, the lovely thing about deceit is that means people have stories to remember... and eventually, the details get muddled and things just don't quite add up.  Spending a little bit of extra time can spell the difference in smelling a rat, and giving that rat a chance to walk all over your emotions.

As for disappointment, heartache, any number of less than fun feelings, that's a fact of life. It happens, it sucks and how it effects you is entirely dependant on how you process it and how you let it effect you. I tend to feel a lot worse about something if I feel that it is out of my hands, "Poor me, look at this bad thing that happened to me!" That mode of feeling doesn't resolve anything for me, so I continue to feel crappy about it. I'm able to deal with things a lot better with just a little bit of modification of perspective, such as,  "Wow, that wasn't fun. What can I do to make sure it doesn't happen again?" It still sucks, but at least then I'm taking something positive from the situation. YMMV

Answer: they're not.

This is like asking why are so many Muslims terrorists...  If they are a terrorist, then they are NOT Muslims.  They may think they are, they may claim to be acting for Islam, but they are not.

If a Dom is untruthful, then he isn't a Dom, simple as that.  He doesn't deserve that title.  Sites like this are plagued with cheats and liars and frauds.  You just have to talk to them, test them, challenge them, and make them prove themselves to be genuine.
