He shoot himself in the foot a bit, by not making sure the facts in his film were correct.

Thats why I hate movies made by or about the governement or their afiliates.
Take that 911 film By Micheal Moore. He states and I quote "...Iraqis who have never killed an America..." He obliously Forgot about a little thing in the 80s call the Gulf War/Desert Strom.
These movies are mainly oneside propaganda and paranoia conspericies. Designed to scare the average american pothead.

I think you know,as does everyone else, what he meant by that.
Don`t play dumb.

I know what he meant. He meant that he was snorting so much "nose candy" that every thing from 1978-1997 is a blank to him.

You sure it wasn't "Last Comic Standing" that he actually won? Seems more appropriate.

Not bad for a guy who put out a movie full of errors:

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/law/corporate_law/article2633838.ece

....as i understand things, the court judgement referred to the film as 'broadly accurate' but did take note of 9 (nine, count them) significent errors. The judgement went on to say
"Despite finding nine significant errors the judge said many of the claims made by the film were fully backed up by the weight of science. He identified “four main scientific hypotheses, each of which is very well supported by research published in respected, peer-reviewed journals and accords with the latest conclusions of the IPCC”. "

Please contrast and compare with the stuff the White House pumped out to justify it war in Iraq. Now, i'm all for pointing out when people make errors, but to suggest that only one side makes errors is clearly partisan and negates the force of the argument.

A final point.....how many people have died because of Gore's errors of fact, as opposed to Bush's errors of fact?

The lawsuit was  in relation to it it being part of a classroom curriculum. The court found that Gore's movie met the standard for partisan political rhetoric, and therefor not allowed, not matter how many true facts were tacked onto the over-the-top exaggerations.

Odd that we would consider removing parstisan propaganda from the classroom as somehow partisan.

As to your final question, you might want to consider the people on the USS Cole, as well as the people in Iraq, who died for Gore's ego and stocks in Big Oil.

Actually the film isn't being removed from classrooms, however a guidance pack has to be added to it. The phrase you used 'partisan political rhetoric' was not, as far as i know, part of the language used by the court.......the phrase 'broadly accurate' was. These two phrases mean two different and mutually exclusive things.
As to the USS Cole and Iraq, how is Gore telling untruths responsible for these things? (genuine question, i am merely unaware of what you allude to)

From the linked article

"In what is a rare judicial ruling on what children can see in the class-room, Mr Justice Barton was at pains to point out that the “apocalyptic vision” presented in the film was politically partisan and not an impartial analysis of the science of climate change.
“It is plainly, as witnessed by the fact that it received an Oscar this year for best documentary film, a powerful, dramatically presented and highly professionally produced film,” he said in his ruling. “It is built around the charismatic presence of the ex-Vice-President, Al Gore, whose crusade it now is to persuade the world of the dangers of climate change caused by global warming.
“It is now common ground that it is not simply a science film – although it is clear that it is based substantially on scientific research and opinion – but that it is a political film.”
"

Now if those highlighted quotes, in their proper context mean that Gore's film was ruled OK for classroom use because it is 'broadly accurate', then I'm afraid there is nothing I can do to help you.

But 'partisan' is the last accusation you should be making.

(BTW, just speculation, what exactly was the Cole doing in Yemen? Didn't we have a 600 ship Navy specifically to carry out all replenishments at sea, so that no warship would be left vulnerable by having to tie up pierside in a dangerous part of the world?
Oh no, that's right, someone took credit in their autobiography for getting rid of 200 ships, inlcuding replenishment craft, as one of their greatest accomplishments while in office.

Now shall we look at a list of major stockholders in Big Oil and see whose dividends have gone through the roof since the invasion of Iraq?)

SHHH Alumbrado, your not supposed to talk about the details of Gore's shrinking the government.  It doesn't sound as good when it is pointed out that most of the shrinking was accomplished by cutting the number of boats in the Navy, and replacing Millitary functions (supply, logistics, food) with contracts that are much cheaper when not needed, but very expensive when used.

Your request doesn't follow....None of that is related to being awarded a Nobel Prize.    How about sticking to the concept of "Gee, a Nobel Peace Prize for a seriously flawed documentary?"    I'm sure there were actually people or groups nominated that deserved the prize for PEACE more....

Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change share the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Wise people, those Norwegians.

Actually...easily fooled and not very scrupulous in checking the veracity of the facts in his "documentary".

If Al Gore has any integrity he’ll hand it right back to them and say, "no thanks, this award became meaningless when you gave one to a terrorist and a murderer."

I am referring, of course to Yasser Arafat.

You forgot to mention Begin as well.

Usually you claim to be scrupulous. Your integrity is slipping.

This is going to be soooo sweet.

Prediction:
The next few weeks are going to be filled with haters, who are just jealous of a good man.

Weeks, maybe months of how bad Gore is.

Remember, these haters believe that Gore claimed to have "invented the Internet".With stupidity like that, you can expect all kinds of funny, silly, mean, vile, pathetic, player hate`n stuff,to come at Gore.

Gore, that "bad guy",try`n to save the environment.Where does he get off?!What a meanie!....

The douche bags were calling him Senator Ozone, years ago.

What do you expect from that bunch?Don`t expect integrity.

Yep, there are going to be weeks of rightwing spite, venom and oozing pus but those sour grapes aren't going to be so sour because the Gore is right.
