I tend to agree, if you can find and afford either almond butter, or macademia butter, they're far healthier, IMO.

The nutritionist I s aw actually recommends snacks between meals. Healthy ones, yes but snacks.  3 snacks a day. Like low fat yogurt, or a handfull of nuts or, yes a fruit.

Not every one see's results from eating right and exercise alone, sometimes they may have a medical problem, or perhaps they're not doing the level of exercise difficulty needed.

My birthday is Saturday, I plan on splurging a little, but haven't decided on what, yet.

Or if the UMs are old enough to help, make your own peanut butter. I used to do that as a kid with my mother and it was fun eating the pb that 'I' made. Again, here I go with the purees. Heh. They do not taste like smooshed up veggies I promise you. They can go into just about anything, and if you didn't know it was a veggie or fruit puree added you would just think it is awesome tasting food. It used to take me about an hour a week to make enough to last for two weeks, I would freeze packets and just use them all week long.Like adding one to spaghetti sauce. Fruit purees are fantastic in breads like pumpkin bread and stuff like that. They will never know they just ate a full days worth of veggies!

also for the kids.. cause they do have to eat.  Cut up some cheese on some whole grain crackers make for a healthy snacks..

And level you are so right about almond butter it is soooo good.   Also read the labels and when you and your family eat... do eat the serving size suggested

another good treat would be yogurt.. also some yogurt smoothies.. low cal juice and frozen fruit.. I'm sure you're kids will love them... I know I do.

Good idea, we used to juice a lot of stuff and have the purees left over and mixed them up in sauces but it can get expencive and if your body  isnt used to it can clean you out lol until you do get used to it, very healthy for you

Go to a site called body for life. It's run by an outfit that sells suppliments, and they run a constant weight loss contest. If you will take a look at the Champions tab you'll find all sorts of the past winners.

When you look at the women winners, look in their eyes, and see the difference.

The site offers diets, blogs from contestants, a msg board for all kinds of interests, an exercise procram, and basically everything you'd need to change your body. You don't have to buy their stuff either. You have to use some if you want to win, but if you're really interested in making this change here it is.

It's my opinion that most of the women on here are not athletic, and are of the type that live in their minds. Dreamers, Nurds. After all, a LOT of subs are brilliant - one can see by the level of discourse. But not jockettes.

So you gotta learn all this stuff, and here's one of the best no BS places ever.

I'm one of those Doms that will have to put a sub on a strict exercise program, because I can't find the mind and body I want in one person. I'll take the mind. I can create the body.

Be wary of fruit juices, many of them are loaded with sugar:

Ok, so tons of water, no processed foods, and smaller portions. I can live with that. I liked the cheese and crackers snack idea. Wheat crackers aren't bad. I've tried wheat bread and don't much like it. Though, the loaf bread isn't as bad as the buns they have out. I bake a lot of our foods. And I'm not sure how much this helps, but I also drain and RINSE the grease off of our scrambled hamburger meats with hot water before we eat it.

I personally think the water and exercise will help tons. We never got that much exercise and hardly ever drink water. That small change should make a world of difference. After cutting out unhealthy snacks, regular meals shouldn't be as bad.

Willpower has never been one of my strong points. I'm working on it honestly. I seem to be getting better at it. I've found that the more I want to look better (for myself), the more I strive to do better. Also, I don't want my kids growing up living unhealthy lives. I think they'll be pretty open to the changes because since the beginning of this year, I've been slowly working into more and more changes. I know it feels a lot better knowing we're getting more physical exercise and eating better.

This may sound silly. But, I've also found that if I try to change my physical appearance for anyone aside from myself and my kids, I'll never follow through. It has to be something I want to do for myself.

Thanks to all for the advice. It certainly hasn't fallen on deaf ears.

I do! My birthday;s november 23rd, and I want cornbeedand cabbage, and mashed potato's anmd gravey, and I want moms yummy candied yamms, and for desert I want an almond pecan pie.

Most yogurt smoothies have 200 calories or more and have tons of sugar, Fruit juices too have tons of sugar, and fruit juices also can have corn syroup and high fructose, which is BAD and you're not supposed to have.

Awww level, the diaebtis is to bad. Enjoy what ever you choose though! My dad does make a less sugary and sweet pecan pie version however.

Moderation is the key. Cheese is good for joints, but high in salt. If you use tinned vegtables, rinse them first as it washes the salt off. Steer clear of fish in brine too. If you walk, start slow and build to a brisk pace. Walking at normal pace wont do anything, fitness wise. Personally all the things i like, i should avoid, so while i still treat myself, i just have less. Okay its cheating, but cutting down is more bearable than giving up completely. Waters good, i sometimes add dilute to taste orange juice, just for a change. If the kids dont eat fruit, try making a pudding to disguise it, easy on the sugar though..... :)
