I doubt its just me, but I can't help to be turned on by the idea of punishment, and what makes things more complicated to my dom, is that there really isnt a "punishment" for me, because in the grand idea of things I like the idea. So my question is, is it wrong to like to be punished? (if that makes any sense lol...)

Status: offline 		Is it the punishment itself that you like? Or the idea of control?

i personally hate punishment- real, not play. i'm not supposed to like it, or it wouldn't be effective. i do like the rules that could potentially lead to punishment if i don't follow them.

If you're talking about physical punishment being a turn-on, you can always incorporate that into play.

Status: offline 		anything really from physical punishment to humiliation type tactics, I just like the ideas in general. Like an instance with ice, on my privates, didnt shrink them at all like they should, because I was too turned on lol. She has her work cut out for her lol.

Status: offline 		Personally, I hate being punished because it means I've disappointed my Master.

And I'd suggest the idea that you don't like punishment, you like physical play. I'm guessing that if you had to sit down and write a two thousand word essay on the importance of submission in your life, including supporting material and footnotes, you probably wouldn't get off on that overmuch.

Status: offline 		There are times when Phoenix will get upset with me because I push and push, so he will get agressive and turn me over and smack my ass hard. Normally I would love it but hearing the words "Enough Nika!"  from him takes away any pleasure I may have gotten from the physical act of him spanking me. I dreed the idea of being punished, not because I can't handle the punishments but because that means I displeased him.
 
Personally, if I started enjoying displeasing him and being punished I would have to step back and ask myself why, and perhaps reevaluate my relationship and our roles.

Status: offline 		Hum i dont like punishment, as a sub my desire is primarily to please my Dom if im being punished then ive done something wrong, how can anyone enjoy that?

Im thinking its semantics though i think you just mean play, in which case many do enjoy what you have described.

Status: offline 		The way to get both your needs met is to do play punishments. I know a domme who orders her sub to buy the winning lottery ticket. Obviously he can't do that, so she gets to tell him what a bad boy he was and 'punish' him.

But that's a far cry from someone saying "I'm very disappointed in you. I'm not sure there's much future to this relationship. I'll have to think carefully about whether or not I want to see you again". That's real punishment.

I echo this and what Stef wrote. Punishment is generally done because you screwed up and the punishment is something that is not something you want. It is to emphasis and gives penance so not to do it again.

Discipline is more for re-enforcing of the power dynamic to help both people feel and create an atmosphere of the power exchange agreed upon.

Discipline and play you are absolutely normal to want, need and enjoy. Whether they are pleasurable to you personally, you enjoy how it pleases your dominant or how it makes you feel more submissive and all of the above, nothing wrong with that.

I'm with Stef here.
I cannot imagine gaining any pleasure from a) the act of displeasing Sir so much He punishes me and b) the caning i get as punishment.

Status: offline 		Punishment is a last resort in behavioral modification. Pisses me off to have to do that-since it means I basically failed to get results otherwise. I never use play sort of things to do it.

Ever-I don't need excuses to do sensation play of humiliation-I enjoy those too much to ruin it that way. If I were the Domme to the op-I would have him do some sort of totally boring and repetitive tasks-and not play with him for a set peiod of time.

You don't punish a bad dog by feeding it steak sirloin-you punish it by making it pull the sled to fairbanks.

Status: offline 		I do understand what you mean though as so many of the ACTS that seem to be punishment can be enjoyable at another time. I have had Doms that were confused by HOW to punish me as there are so many painful things I enjoy. One Dom joked that the worst punishment He could give me was to make me cuddle and softly, sweetly make love. He was so cruel. 

True displeasure and disappointment though, would stop me dead in my tracks everytime. The worst was when they would cancel playdates, not just to refrain from playing with me but would tell me it was because they needed the time to control their own anger over my actions or their frustration with me.

It's not about the physical acts, it's all in your mind.

Status: offline 		Personally, i dont see how you can gain any enjoyment from punishment when you know the what you did has disappointed and displeased your owner.

  I think the best thing in your case is to apply no physical punishment at all and see how you handle that.

Status: offline 		actually, the best punishment for you is not punishment at all.  To you it's a reward, so i would do the opposite and not give you any attention lol
but then what do i know..im not dominant nor could i ever be.
i hate punishments myself.  i don't like my butt paddled, or my nose stuck in the corner for hours on end.  ..and yet i always seem to wind up there cuz i just have to have that last word.

Status: offline 		Take today for example, i got punished on monday and by today i wanted another caning. So no, your not the only one. i'm actually starting to enjoy asking for either canings or whippings, and i found a new way to be caned that i absolutely love.

Nobody should enjoy punishment...if they do, then it's not a proper punishment.  If somebody enjoys being whipped, for example, then that just wouldn't be a good punishment, now would it?
