Goddess20 -> Male Pro Doms, Is there any money in it? (10/26/2007 2:25:57 PM)

I have a male friend who isn't interested in the BDSM lifestyle but works as My security when I'm working as a Domme. Seeing Me working and the money I make he asked Me a question I simply can't answer, maybe you can,

Is there any money in it for male Pro Doms?

He has no interest in it sexually and it would be purely to make money but I can't really see how it would.

Maybe Dom on male sub (gay) but he wouldn't be interested in that, he's interested in Dom on female sub.

Can anyone give Me an answer?

With that attitude ... no ...

My opinion: If it is not a vocation, a calling, then it will not be the real thing.

In any case most true dominants are able to earn their money in a regular profession. If they have a vocation they exercize their vocation in their free time and do not charge any money for it, is my impression - or at least one guy I know about does it that way, religiously.

It seams that a lot of the exotic dancers that come through the club that Phoenix works at complain about not being able to find a man who can give a proper "beating". They have typically been in bad past relationships with abusers, and abusers who call themselves masters. On occasion she will bring one of her coworkers home to get to know me a little I insist on not doing a scene with someone until I know enough about them to trust them to safeword, and to know any other physical or mental issues they might have. I know most of the girls she works with casually anyhow, so it does not take that long. After we have established that I know enough to be safe we can negotiate a scene. Nothing sexual, just the level of BDSM activity they are looking for.

While she has not frequently brought them home, they are very frequent in existence. We have discussed on several occasions the idea of me providing a professional type of service to them. She would make the payment arrangements, and nothing sexual. I don't know that it would be a great business, but it would make me feel better knowing that not all the persons past experiences were negative.

I kind of feel like if I can give an abused person a little bit of hope for the life they want to live, then I have made a positive difference for our community. If I can do that, then they can see that not people are abusers, and they can look for a relationship with someone who is about more then just abuse. If they do that, then they can contribute to the community and spread their knowledge to others as well.

~Ki. . .the hope bringer.

Thanx for the replies.

I doubt he'd do it anyway, he doesn't have the time with a full time job and a family. And he's not interested in any part of BDSM.

But I thought I'd ask the question as you see a lot of FemProDommes but not many maleProDoms.

The only male pro doms I know of cater to the gay community and sex is frequently part of it. Don't think there's enough of a demand by females.

Goddess20 -> RE: Male Pro Doms, Is there any money in it? (10/26/2007 3:09:08 PM)

That was My thought exactly.

I can imagine the D/s gay community thriving but not many women wanting to pay to get spanked and whipped when there are plenty of men more than willing to do it for free [:)]

I  disagree ... I think there is a huge need for male pro doms ... some of the gay pro doms I know will see female clients out of necessity (read as ...only males offering pro dom sessions) ..but would prefer not to for obvious reasons  ...

Does that mean that pro Dommes are not "true" dommes? They've managed to get people to hand over cash for doing what they love to do! People pay the Dommes to control and order them around. (And they have a nicer dress code...)

Not experienced enough in the field, but I sorta doubt there is much of a market. Demand is not the only factor here, a female sub might feel too wary of entering an unknown male's area. Also, less women pay for services of this nature overall, perhaps due to supply or to cultural ideas.

And since he's not into BDSM...Has he considered just becoming a stripper or something? I wonder if enough women hire those...

He could come be my stripping maid! I'm just helpful like that.

Vanatru -> RE: Male Pro Doms, Is there any money in it? (10/26/2007 8:39:57 PM)

*shrug* It all sounds pretty close to prostitution. Anyways, they obviously aren't really dominant in a "pro" capacity as they are doing what the "client" wants... fulfill a service to them. Therefore, to answer the OP, being in the lifestyle isn't really necessary, only understanding what his "clients" would want would be needed. Might as well do self-flagulation or something from my PoV.

And batshalom, you're in some mood tonight! *laughs*

Hrm...Given that in another thread, there was the idea that a guy in a toolbelt attracts women...Maybe he could do a strip-handyman service...Fix the sink pantless or something.

SimplyMichael -> RE: Male Pro Doms, Is there any money in it? (10/26/2007 11:22:55 PM)

I would truly love to go pro but have yet to find women willing to pay for it.  Hell, I have yet to find pro-doms willing to pay for even basic training.  As for providing sex, I have charged for that before so I sure wouldn't mind charging again.

I used to work with a lot of pro-doms and other than the gay men route I have never heard of a man working as a het pro-dom and making any money at it.

If I am wrong, just let me know, my hours and rates are very flexible.

I tend to think  that women are too smart and not as desperate as men to pay for it. Just look at the ratio of Dommes to Doms and see how many require tributes. This is a generalization but in it is in large part true. My opening statement is supposed to be taken in a humourous light and in reality, this is just how things are.

MrSpectacular -> RE: Male Pro Doms, Is there any money in it? (10/27/2007 7:00:23 PM)

It is a matter of supply and demand - there are a lot of men who will pay to be submissve for an hour or two, then go back to their vanilla lifestyle. . I do not believe there are that many women subs out there that want that kind of dynamic. This may be a generalization but I think that women cannot turn it on or off as quickly as men.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Male Pro Doms, Is there any money in it? (10/27/2007 7:47:14 PM)

Given the society we live in, I'd say no. Men are chasing all the time. Women have many to choose from when they want to not be chased.

since it isnt about sex, being a female sub i enjoy submitting to women as much as men.  i even had a session with a pro Domme  once.  it was absolutely wonderful.  for me i felt safer since She was a woman, but also got the other things i needed as well since i didnt have to worry about the sex part.  not to mention pro Dommes are very sexy and better to look at!  i would never pay for a pro Dom....  too easy to find non pro Doms and just wouldnt be the same.  especially if he has no interest in it, i doubt he would have very good techniques or any clue as to what makes a sub tick.

if you are gay or dont mind dealing with housewives there is likely money in it... but women dont "pay" for it like men will... this is because women can give more pussy away on a weekend, then men can hope to seduce/buy in a lifetime
