Oh is that what they were singing? For years I thought it was 'Every girl is crazy about a short black man.'

I've just had this sudden realisation that hetero sub males are disadvantaged uniquely amongst all those involved in BDSM.  We can't, as a group, dress in a sub style that will do anything 'special' for femdoms in a vanilla setting.  Bah.  No fair.

I wouldn't mind being a butler.  I quite fancy myself as a Jeeves.  Yep, I'd give that a try.

. . . .  And you could be a chauffeur in the same Lady's house.  'Course, I'd outrank you and be at the head of the table in the servants' quarters.  Mr Hudson outranked Edward, as I'm sure you remember.

That reminds me of Neil Diamond's Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show.  For the longest time, I thought the lyrics were "and randy old ladies."  Turns out he's singing "and grab the old ladies," which, out of context, sounds pretty bad, too.

Well of course "Mistress" would prefer me as a chauffeur, so i could drive her crazy. Sheesh, i thought that was obvious !

Not really.  She'd be crazy to take us on in the first place.

Not as bad as my watching Grease and hearing the lines from two songs that went

"You're the Wizard of Oz!"

and

"I got cheese,
It's multiplying"

I tend not to listen to lyrics very carefully.

There is one domme I see from time to time and we have mutual appreciation for how we each dress. I often ask her for a theme (what type of dress will be appropriate for that night), or how she will be dressing and then come up with whatever to fit the theme or complement what she plans to wear.

Cheers,

Sea

A joint theme - I like that idea.

Once I got a female friend to pick out exactly what she'd have me dress in from various shops, on the basis I'd promise to buy and wear the whole ensemble. (I was pretty well off at the time.)   I got a nice little sub buzz out of that.

Surprised by the result and quite pleased.  I've always pretty much dressed the way partners have wanted me to, anyway.  It really makes no odds to me.

Men who can't dress themselves are so enchanting.  When I was a teenager, my dad and I were going to visit my mom in the hospital, and he dressed himself.  He asked me if he looked okay, and I graciously suggested a change, since he was wearing a printed shirt and plaid pants.  (this was the 70's)  I could see how he made the choice though, that shirt could have been dyed to match the trous!  Game go, dad!  Funny, he's a total clotheshound nowadays, though he still can't match things to save his soul.

And he IS my mom's sub, in a non-kinky way, so this IS relevant.

Hmm.  It'd still feel a bit 'sub-pushy' to ask "have you any preference about the way I should dress?' but maybe that's just me being a touch too edgy.

I'm sure that will be an apt reflection for the Ask a Submissive section.

A point contained in my last post is that a woman might find appeal in controlling how a sub dresses, and a woman might find appeal in seeing what his mind puts together.

Hmm.  Well, next time, I think I'll ask her (whoever she turns out to be).  I don't like to be pushy, but it's better to be bold than to be stumped.

Are you sure about that??? Just asking.  It's not like parents announce all their secrets to their kids.

I think there's a difference between saying "What do you want me to wear?" and "I've never been to that restaurant, are casual clothes acceptable or is it more dressy?" The first I find pushy, the second is a request for information.

I always tell my subs to dress and act in a manner that honors their collar. That covers a whole lot.

Good phrasing.  I'll remember that.

That's a good way to do it. And if it's a restaurant that the two have been to before, or it is a visit at home, one could ask:

Please let me know how you plan to dress so that I may dress accordingly.

If they are going out and the domme is planning to do jeans and t-shirt, the sub should be in the same ballpark, and the same if she is planning to dress nicer.

Cheers,

Sea
