Birth Day SPANKINGS

Status: offline 		So how does B-Day spankings apply to the BDSM life style? What are you thoughts on it? Should Dominants get B-Day spankings as well? After all, for all who celebrate having birth days, getting a spanking is a tradition for most. So do you or do you not submit to a spanking on your B Day? This goes for everyone?
Also, does anyone think that a B Day spanking has any meaning on introducing people into the lifestyle? After all, the spanking is done out of fun and most seem to get a little enjoyment out of it on the giving and recieving end.
I'm curious of your thoughts on this topic.

Status: offline 		Never thought of it as having anything to do with BDSM, to me it was always just one of several silly birthday traditions. We put shoe polish on my grandmother's nose for her birthday. Funny you should mention it though... I just had a birthday... too late to spank me now!

Status: offline 		haha, My birthday was this last Monday. I recieved one spanking for each year I was alive, and one more for "good luck". Like the usual american tradition. However, when it is Master's birthday - I recieve his spankings. We don't do Birthday spankings with the kids tho, we do Birthday Tickles.

Status: offline 		I've been around a while. Been to a lot of birthday parties when it was someone within the scene.

I'm yet to see a birthday spanking, whether it be dom or submissive.
Yeah, a lot of people kid about it. I rarely see it happen. Of course not to say it doesn't. I'm sure some who like spankings are probably begging for them regardless whether it is their birthday or not.
I know I never received one as a child nor as an adult. I'm not so sure it is as common as people think it is.

I think giving B-Day spankings can be fun, and I've actually incorporated them into a couple of scenes with my Kat.

When my birthday comes around, even though I am a switch, if there are to be spankings at all, she gets them. This is because, first of all, she doesn't Top me. She's assisted when I have been topped, but the dynamic of our relationship and her personality don't allow her to go there with me (despite the delightfully wicked things she does when I let her help me top someone else).

And second of all, as much of a painslut as I can be, I don't enjoy being spanked...too many negative associations there. Flog me, whip me, pummel me to a pulp... but spankings always have been and always will be punishment to me.

Status: offline 		What is up with that tradition anyway? Where did it come from? I never understood it - just seemed one of the many "traditional" things that no-one ever questions. But if a Dom wants a birthday spanking, they should have one.

No there's no reason a dominant "should" go through birthday spankings.

YES - and they should be administered on their behalf to their slave. (your welcome beth!)

At the Lair, a club where we go in LA, there are often "birthday spankings". In fact often the birthday boy/girl is attached to a spanking bench with a sign nearby, or sometimes written on their body, welcoming any interested to join in the "celebration".

Any excuse for a party huh?
