For a long time I tended to have more male friends then female. 'Cause, no offense to any women, they were much more interesting. They talked about swords, guns, mud-bogging, fighting, told dirty dirty stories instead of giggling about anything that looked remotely like a penis. This being the case, I was never surprised at all when they turned out to be interested in me. Why not? I enjoyed the stuff they did, I was at least somewhat attractive (varying by who you talk to), I either did the activities or wanted to do the activities that they were interested in and I have boobs and love to make out. It's always made sense to me, but then again Valyraen does tease me about having a very male way of thinking.

Actually, I do have friends that are female, but that doesn't mean I didn't think/fantasize about them, even though I'd not go there.

So it is always a part of a guy....thinking about getting into your pants...but it doesn't control us past a certain age (from what I hear...I'm only 53, after all!)

Don't be too sure about that. All the women I know, including me, use the same criteria as men, we look at men and ask "how doable is he?" even if he is a co-worker, friend of our brother, our really cute doctor, the gas station attendent, the contruction worker, even our gay male friends.

But I think the difference is, we just think about it, but not constantly wonder how we are going to get in their pants or we don't let it interfere with the friendship, or just stay friends in the hopes that it will be more.

I don't know why people think women are not as sexually oriented as men. If you heard a group of women talk it might be worse than a group of men...

Considering that I am woman who hangs out with a men probably more than I do with women, I just have to say... what the fuck?

Since when is having male friends and hanging out with men shooting fish in a barrel? I'd hang out with more women if more women in my real life were interesting enough to hang out with.

i thought this was a great thread... i have no answers to offer but i have this same kinda problem, i have very very few women friends and if those friendships actually last any length of time it is amazing... i just get tired of hearing about "them" there never seems to be a chance to talk about me.. we my guy friends it works both ways... yes i do get tired of them trying to get in my pants but well that is the nature of the beast..

I have the same, but gender reversed problem: I prefer to hang out with the women. I think I have maybe three guy friends, and a couple dozen women whom I buddy around with. The reasons are pretty simple: have you ever tired to hang out with guys when they are farting, belching, and discussing sports or cars?

Meanwhile, at the party, you'll find me in the kitchen with the girls, talking about relationships, latest movies, politics... (Plus, I'm surrounded by all the nice things I enjoy: tits, pussies, legs, beautiful faces....) So I ask you, is having more friends of the opposite sex REALLY a problem? I think the real problem would be not having ANY friends.

Oh, and the guys I AM friends with? Two are bisexual. The other is a film making buddy.
