No. The BDSM peeps are not more intelligent. I consider this to be a 'we are better than (insert section of any community here) thread'. Which is one of the most naive and stupid topics of all.

AHA! You have all proven my suspicion! Each of you have responded in different ways...some snarky, some with a barrage of buck-seventy-five words, some with guilt-ridden responses due to your feelings of insecurity due to your knowledge that INDEED, you ARE smarter than the guy who thinks Playboy is as naughty as it gets!

Just kidding, guys... really...I just wanted to throw this out there because I have been lurking on this site for a few months now, and just joined yesterday. I chose to join this forum rather than some of the others out there because most of you folks seem to be able to express yourselves quite well. I do think kink attracts more intelligent people. If I had to pick people for a debate team, I'd pick a random sampling of you guys over a Fraternity House in a heartbeat!

Heh.. well I am. LOL dang that felt good to type! But, honestly, having met more than a fair share of kinksters I can tell you intelligence is not a prerequisite. Nor is creativity. Sometimes horniness is a big driving force. And you don't need a lot of brain power to drive that animal.

due to the nature of this forum....both the fact that it is written communication on a computer and that we scare away the ummm not so smart ones that can't hack it....for lack of a better phrase....yes, if my only exposure to people who engage in BDSM were these boards, i would say we were more intelligent than your average group...but this is in no way a representative sample group...sorry...

Studies have shown that we are from the upper middle class and higher iq group. Many people fall into our kink. It is hard to say.
It does help to be creative mentally and have a little extra change to purchase special clothing and toys that we use.
I think we are different. I am not sure what the qualifying element would be. I just take it as it comes now. It is much more fun that way.

I don't think overall we are smarter. And honestly, anyone has thought that has never spent much time on collarme. There are some DUMB kinksters there.

Personally, I am quite intelligent if not always driven. I'm not a genius by any standards, but I am far above average.

The other day I got an email from a dominant critcizing my profile. The next day, I got another email from him...still criticizing my profile...but he actually went on to admit that when he sent me the original critique, he hadn't even read my profile. I'm sure he is probably a rocket scientist or something.

Nope I do not believe being kinky makes one smarter than others.

Yes I was always making up games, yes I was always out playing , yes I was always trying to read even when it was bedtime. However that's my nature, that's my charachter, it's who I am, not cause I am smarter than someone else, and not cause I am kinky.
