richbtch24 -> Major Pet Peeve (8/9/2005 11:58:39 PM)

If you took the time to read this, I thank you and I will probably get bashed for this but I am completely prepared. Before you criticize me for speaking out and only being on this site for short period of time, it is true that I have only been on THIS site for a short period of time but it is also quite difficult to find this site. I do enjoy coming on here and meeting new people and don't want that to stop but here is my rant. People on here (not this lifestyle) are waaaaayyyy too judgemental. Just open up a post and you will always seeing someone getting upset at what another person says. We all have our own "fetish" if you can call it that and just let everyone be. Each person has their own way that their fantasy plays out, so let them have it. I mean you guys are so nitpicky. Even if someone uses the wrong word for example "subbie." Woah did I ever read that post, most of you hopefully know what I am talkin about. All of a sudden that turned into a race debate. It's just crazy we should be here talking about what we have in common and what we have experienced. I personally love hearing what others have done or what scenes they have played out, it gives me ideas. But instead I read all this criticizing that gets no where. I mean look at my pic, one of the only pics I smile in happens to make me look like the most vanilla fk that somehow manages to have good looking friends. But does that bother me...nah, b/c I think I look good in that pic. Yet I get criticized all the time for that pic, so now its my MAIN pic. SPITE...
Anyway I could go on for pages but I won't waste your time, hopefully you read some or all of this, so go ahead lets critique this one too. I'm sure I made a spelling error or something that you guys can point out but atleast take away my point.

Just a rant,
Rob

Veav -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 12:19:01 AM)

My biggest pet peeve is when Mickey hocks up a hairball. She includes the contents of her stomach, and naturally does it on the carpet somewhere instead of on tiles or in the litterbox where it belongs. It's not like I can blame her, though, she is a longhair...

The one on my left is thats my ex girlfriend, that's why she let me keep her in my photo. The other I barely know its just her friend but if she is, I hope to find out someday. No compliments for me tho, thats cool, haha just kidding.

DomButNotForgotn -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 12:59:09 AM)

Thanks for your pet peeve.

I know people - actually one Dom/Master comes to mind - he thinks every fora, thread, post, whatever you call this stuff... is written for him and him alone to jump all over and criticize. I've given him a polite ration of shit (as have other Doms I know - in print), but recognize that's just the way he is... You learn to ignore the static after a while.

I keep telling people - PLEASE send me the Official BDSM Glossary and Protocol Manual, and these problems won't pop up!

I DID NOT realize that subbie was somehow passe, or even offensive, although I have seen some rather prickly banter about it on another site.

Look, some people like to press buttons, some like to jump like attack dogs when their buttons are pushed, some are oblivious, and some... are just assholes.

We really have to be able to rant in a supportive environment, not "pull rank" on each other, and learn to be tolerant - together we have unity and that's more valuable than protecting ones own tightly held version of what BDSM is all about... in my own opinion.

[:)] i think we need more people like YOU to point out how we sound...personally i agree,
and hope that [:@][:'(][>:] CM will start a seperate forum for ppl who like to critisize!
This way all of the ppl that prefer to think this way can gather together....and do it to.... each other,, and leave the rest of US the sort that prefer not to....out of their nitpicky ways! So thank You Major Pet Peeve and please come again....[8|] i personally welcome the sharing of a peaceful sort, such as Yourself. i have found many ways to disagree with viewpoints, that do not have to include..."let me stick this in your face" ways of voicing my opinions.[;)]

I think the term 'subbie' is acceptable in some social circles. I saw it passed around a lot in one of the Yahoo groups I was in earlier this year. But yes, it is probably a term to avoid unless that person uses it first.

What about the hand? That disembodied floating hand is spooky. Or is it someone ordering a couple beers? I gotta know, please.

Am I the only one that see's the irony here?

Maude my adorable little feline angel/devil, one puked on my portable computer. Only on the lid thankfully so the computer is fine, but she do find the place to do it.

OP i totaly agree. i belived the occult comunities online were judgemental, but never have i enconterd somthing like this. Most of the pepole here are nice, knowledgable pepole, but some seam to think that become they are out of mainstream, insulting others is quite ok.

i practice a bit of a different from of D/s than most here, in it the Dom is the one in charge and the sub obeys, but the relationship like the Dom`s needs always come first, we share our needs and wants, it is more like a 50`s marrige whjit a bit of BDSM twon in. As such i tended to defend the poor subs that said they wanted somthing on the forum, i did not try to push my opinions over onto others, but i participated in the debate from my point of wiew, that of a D/s dynamic do not nessesary have to be aboute the Dom. Twise i have been flamed so mutch for experssing my opinion that i have left the forum for months. At one time i got a line if werry insulting emails, for politly expressing a different wiewpoint at a discussion. My advice op is to try to ignore it, i know i have a problem whit it, i get sad when pepole say mean things to me, but one should try to consentrate on the good parts of the forum instead of the bad.

Pretty girls by the way.

MstrssPassion -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 5:48:48 AM)

the irony?

flaming the flamers

LOL!

I say Bah!

The forums is for expression of each of our individual ideas, thoughts & comments. If people are gonna have thin skin about the replies that are generated then they should not be posting. If another gets their britches in a twist because they don't like what so-n-so said, ignore the post. Creating an all out war within a public forum is rather selfish & juvenile. Grammar & spelling nitpicking is obviously a hobby for people with way to much time on their hands.

Yet I enjoy each of these groups of people. If it is not something of substance that I can actually add to my own knowledge base, I can at least find humor.

zaynab -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 6:22:07 AM)

Not everyone is like that, Rob. I'm not. And I think you look very nice in your picture.

Fidelity -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 6:32:47 AM)

It's just another delightful fetish Rob. Just laugh at it-everyone else does.

nella -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 7:11:15 AM)

What i do not understand and pleese bear whit me, i have a disability that makes it hard for me to understand unwritten sosical rules, why is it ok to be rude on a forum, but not ok to be rude in real life? Is internet a free for all, be as rude as you want?

"That's the second-biggest monkey head I've ever seen!"

It's actually the dogshark. I picked it up at Walmart a while back - it's front-dog, back-shark, the body has a little opening to stuff catnip inside and it's just this freaky thing all around. I brought it home (because how could I not?) and Mickey decided it was just the ultimate thing evar. So she played fetch with it for a long time.

I keep telling her "no... no, you can't play fetch... you're a cat, cats are too dignified to play fetch... if humans want something back so badly they shouldn't throw it away in the first place..." But does she listen? Nooooooo.

But then again, if she wants to make playing fetch a part of her lifestyle, her scene - who am I to tell her she shouldn't? If it's what fulfills her, screw everyone else.

Let us all learn from Mickey's example. (Which doesn't mean happily gnawing on my flesh whenever I come out of the shower or hot tub. Or... maybe it does. Mm.)

onceburned -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 9:30:08 AM)

Veav, I like your cat! She's got style.

Nella, people are rude on the internet because they can get away with it with little cost. In real life, the other person would confront them angrily or perhaps take indirect revenge.

I sometimes think that internet trolls are trying to exorcise all the frustrations they experience in the 'real world' where they are afraid to speak up.

justatoy2 -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 9:54:59 AM)

my biggest pet peeve is people who come here and complain about people who come here and complain about people who come here and complain. And so on and so on and so on....[:D]
