I am endeavoring to write a how-to guide for new Dominants.  What sorts of advice do you feel is appropriate for people who are just starting out in the lifestyle and need a little help.

Status: offline 		1 - just because your title is "Dominant", "Sir", "Master" doesn't make you "God"

2 - submissives/slaves are people too, handle with care

3 - not everyone is a bonafide "expert" in every BDSM activity

4 - it's ok to show your emotional side

5 - not every submissive/slave is at your personal beck and call

Status: offline 		Include a reference list of books that cover this topic in detail (Screw the Roses and the Miss Abernathy books come to mind) as well as a list of places to learn about safety and first aid, such as the Red Cross.

Don't just talk, listen.
Don't listen to the self-important line of bs others will try to sell you.  Be who you are, your importance becomes known by your actions.
DO NOT send cock shots out to prospective partners as a break the ice email!  (lol had to add that one).
Take all advice with caution and decide what works for you.

Ya know, if I wanted good advice I would not have called it "Dominating for Dummies" and started it in Random Stupidity.

and if the subbie refuses, anything short of spanking their bare ass right there in the restaurant in front of everyone, will prove they arent a twue dom.

Status: offline 		You want poor and/or stupid advice?  Take everything everyone has said and apply it in reverse.  I'd also add the following:
 
Make sure to have a tankard of some alcholic beverage on hand at all times.  Ale and mead work well.  Swill contents, belch loudly.  Repeat until tankard is empty, then summon a s-type to your feet by yelling at the top of your lungs.  When no one shows up in 30 seconds, whine about how there are no good subs/slaves anymore.

Not quite.   The correct phrasing is...

"On your knees and smile like a doughnut, slut."

Please make a note of this.

      Ahh...  I see.  It's just that you start threads so rarely.  I wouldn't want to scare you away, even here in the shallow end.

     Perhaps you should put a lot of emphasis on proper protocol.  And don't forget to enforce all the rules of S/slashy S/speak.  In fact, you should write the whole thing in S/slashy S/speak, J/just T/to W/weed O/out T/the U/unworthy.

Very good point....But some how you forgot to mention the lesbians....Obviously once they have had their throats crammed full of Domidong, dining at the "Y" will never have quite the same appeal....

Also by shouting you are a Dom loud and often enough will get you laid.
