That I'm alive! after all that I've been through I'm alive and damn good!

after being run over by cars(3)(that would be my physical person hit by a car 2 seperate times, not including my hitting the ground at 55mph), wrist slashed at work by sheet metal(not an attempt of suicide), my suicidal teen years(alright so my head was/is messed up), who knows how many car accidents (one was a tractor trailor(dirt hauling) running the red light)

I'm just thankfull that I'm alive(imortal)  and pretty damn well!

For my husband and son, the rest of our family, kind neighbors and friends.

I'm thankful that my melanoma could be cut out and didn't require chemo.  I'm thankful that my back surgery was a success and for the doctor that made it possible.  I'm thankful for the therapist that are kicking my ass.   I'm thankful I have a job that I don't dread going to everyday.

I don't really do holidays but that was not what was asked.

I am thankful for my background, chiefly infuenced by my Parents. I am thankful that I have not suffered the loss of a Parent, even though that possibility is looming. At least I have the time to extract a bit more of their life history and experience. For now.

I am thankful to have a decent job that I can tolerate.

I am thankful for my teeth, so many my age have lost all or nearly all of them.

I am thankful for what freedom I have. By that I mean I do whatever I want, I set my own hours at work, I have no kids, so that means I can do pretty much whatever I want whenever I want.

I am thankful for the mutual trust within my family and chosen family.

I am actually thankful not to be rich (in the monetary sense) as I don't have to play the game, I can and do live a relatively simple life.

I'm thankful most for Lumus, my wonderful Daddy, Master, husband, friend and partner who I happened to stumble across right here on CM when I wasn't looking.

Pumpkin da Punky, aka Lardo da Retardo, our cat, goofball that he is. He's also one of the sweetest, most loving cats I've ever known and laid back.

Monsters, family (sorta) and friends that are there for you no matter what. Those that have stuck with me for over 25 years and fly 3,000 miles to come out for our wedding. Those that I've known less than that and still fly 2,000 miles to come out or drive or take the bus for 6 hours to get here. Those that pipe up with support when I'm down. And all the wonderful people here on CM. (And the not so wonderful that provide the entertainment.....)

Our home, humble that it may be, it's ours and filled with love.

Lumus' job - hey, he has one and that's saying something in this day and age.

And the little things of life that make it so worth while. Kittehs purring, puppies wagging their tails, flowers blooming, beautiful music, a baby's first smile and giggle, the smell of good food cooking, snow falling softly in big, fat, fluffy flakes, a beam of light drifting down in motes to land on a tree and illuminate it, cuddles with the One i love, a good book to read while listening to George Winston, so many things.

Yep, I'm thankful.

Rain

What am I thankful for?  Hmmmmmmm...

~ having a good shrink
~ having a small, but extremely well picked, group of close friends who are closer to me than my relatives could ever be
~ the fact that neither of my spawn lives with me
~ intelligence, education, and at least a small smattering of common sense
~ being at a point in my life where I've grown past feeling a Need to have a relationship in order to feel some sort of pseudo completeness
~ my still new back deck, the still new hot tub that sits on it, and the much improved back yard it sits in
~ the relatively peaceful year that I've had, with my idiot brother leaving me alone and Not intentionally causing problems to try and make life blow up in my face
~ the fact that there's not enough of my family remaining to have to worry about them showing up on my doorstep for the ordeal of the dead bird or to expect some sort of gaudy show around an enshrined tree next month
~ that the holiday season doesn't last very long, but tends to be a profitable time of year (which is frankly the only good thing about the holidays)

I am thankful for..
-- The wonderful Master who entered my life, saw beyond my misery and loves me no matter how rebellious, cantankerous and Alpha I am
-- That my parents are no longer in my life in any way
-- That my son, his wife and my grandson are doing well
-- That there is hope in this country and enough growth by it's people that it is finally true that ANYONE can grow up to be President
-- That my furchildren love me, and that one of them is big enough to support me when my balance has gone
-- That diabetic retinopathy has not progressed to blindness, but by the time it does, Komodo will be ready to help his mother in all ways.
-- that Masters job is not one that will vanish in the night and that we have no more debt than we can pay all at one time.
--That his family is healthy
-- That I start school in January
--That I have met so many fantastic people on CM expanding my circle of friendships and support during the hard times

I am Thankful for Life for the first time in a LONG time.

I'm thankful for most everything. I'm very happy with my life and I've had enough tough times and close calls to realize how much I am blessed.

I'm thankful for both of my celebrations of Thanksgiving.  I am also thankful for my new fried turkey converts.  We're taking over the country one set of tastebuds at a time.

Growing another year wiser.
Learing that it's ok to not get something you wanted, as long as you made the best effort possible to get it. Some things just aren't meant to be.
My family.
My friends.
My health.
The love of a good woman.
That's a start. There's really too much to list. I'm a very lucky man.

I think we should all be thankful that even in these tough economic times and with all the political problems, that some of us have not become so materialistic and shallow to forget what is important.

That we can come here and butt our hard heads about these issues, and at times see value in an opposing viewpoint. That we can bring our most personal problems here under cloak of anonymity, and butt heads about that.

That there are people from different parts of the world here, with different backgrounds and therefore, beliefs. We can learn alot from one another as long as nobody starts bickering.

If you agree DON'T QUOTE ME, just write "I do". I am sick of seeing boxes, and boxes inside of boxes and boxes inside of boxes inside of boxes....... you know what I mean. I am actually thankful that I don't even know how to do that. Please don't enlighten me on this matter, I am just fine.

Be well.
