So for once, a simple question…. Why are you here on the forums?  I don’t mean collarme, I only mean the collarchat forums.  Why do you post new threads here, or why to you respond to the threads of others?

As always, I’ll answer my own question.  As those of you who know me already know, I came to these forums looking to study the psychological aspects of BDSM.  Once or twice a month a question, typically psychological in nature, will strike me.  Il have my own answers to it, usually, but I’m interested to hear the answers and opinions of others.  So, I post it here and see the responses.  I don’t typically browse other people’s threads, and my responses to them have been quite limited here.

Best wishes to you all on your respective journeys, wherever they end up leading you.

collarchat....to help see how I fit in, don't fit in, don't fit in.
to see if I want to fit in, or not want to fit in, not want to fit in
to study the politics of the human race
I started cause I wanted to associate with 'like minds'
only to find not so alike, but very alike.
Like minds of who, to who, for who?
the bdsm community is like any other community.
Their acceptance, clicks, who's who! All the same!
                 the judgemental, nonjudgmental, judgemental.
                  All the same!

Actually, I know you don't mean it, but you do impress me with your brilliance and wit quite often.

Typing loosens my arthritic hands.  I like to talk, and listen to other opinions.  I like tormenting myself with the cool guys who are too far away.  The usual

Why am I here...many reasons, to meet Mr. Right, Mr. Right Now, Mr. Maybe, Mr. Wrong (no..wait, already did that, ok, forget Mr. Wrong..)

Other reasons: entertainment, humor, knowledge, distraction, turn on, outlet, boredom, desire to be around BDSM conversations, and I pretend I am part of a community since I have no close friends who are into what I am into. (said tongue in cheek since it is not really a community, just pixels on a screen).

In all seriousness, I do find many people here on the forums to be very intriguing, intelligent, witty, attractive and those are the ones worth coming here for. The others who are none of the above are still entertaining enough to read about and make comments on their threads.

I'm here on the forums for many reasons. It's a form of entertainment. I enjoy "socializing" with people. But I guess the most important reasons that I am here revolve around the sharing of knowledge. I like to hear others thoughts, opinions and perspectives. Sometimes I learn new things here and there have even been a few times that I have found a real pearl of wisdom. I also enjoy sharing my own experiences and knowledge and hopefully I can provide a pearl myself once in awhile.

Having an answer, or a different viewpoint, to someone who asks a question.

And poking the monkeys sometimes. I like doing that.

Coming in here to the Message Boards, for the most part, gives me a feeling I like. Some threads I cant run out of fast enough though. I have learned lots of things here. I like to check out profiles sometimes and then I like to follow any threads if they have posted. I can learn a lot more about someone even from like only a few posts.

I like 'getting to know' people here in this way. It also interests me what I might respond to and type something myself.

I was into M/s, but not sadomasochism.  A slave was strongly masochistic- she'd like to be beaten and choked all day long.  I came here looking to understand her a bit more.

I eventually dumped her due to a number of things.  Still, I guess I enjoyed the D/s dynamics here.  I'm considering finding a more appropriate board (since I can't relate fully here), but just haven't done it yet.

Why I'm here.

To learn, and laugh, to make friends and  enjoy like minded people that touch my life, sometimes in strange and interesting ways.
