Just for fun, are there things that you must use or are not allowed to use...and is there/what is the mental impact of it for you? An example of my own would be that in a former relationship I was not allowed the use of toilet paper when I urinated (at home). He hated those little pieces of toilet paper that sometimes stick to you. I had to rinse off and pat dry each time. I couldn't help but think of him whenever I did so.

A girlfriend of mine just mentioned that she is not allowed to use any form of baby powder or talc. She went on to say that her dominant has given her a list of every brand of personal care product that she is allowed to use....from toilet paper to soaps and shampoos to tampons (and she is never allowed to use pads). She also has to shower and shave in a specific order.

So, does your dominant involve himself in your personal care routines or specify products?

He does on some things. The nutshell version is that if I'm using a product he doesn't like, he simply bans it. I used to wear musk oil because I'm allergic to perfume (and I like musk oil!), but he doesn't like it, so I'm not allowed to wear it. Some things that I had used prior to meeting him, he really likes and I've continued to use (IE my Herbal Essence shampoo). Other than that, my hair is the only thing he really takes an active interest in controlling - no cutting (trims are okay) and I'm not allowed to dye it. Oh, and he likes me to wear make-up in moderation, so that's what I do.

I can't even begin to wrap my brain around the fact that he dictates the brand of tampons she uses, and that she is never allowed to use pads. God forbid the girl might need BOTH sometimes.

Methinks someone has wayyyy too much time on his hands.

Well, I guess it must be working for them....they've been married over 10 years now.

Would you feel that he was treading in areas that he shouldn't?

My ex took great interest in my body and how I cared for it. I guess that I just saw that interest as pretty normal.

He doesn't dictate to me what I can or cannot use. I can't imagine him actually trying to figure out all the products I need to keep myself this well maintained.

He does prefer my hair red and styled in a certain way so I keep it dyed and get it cut every 8 weeks. He loves a certain perfume and has requested that I put a little on before getting into bed, which I happily do.

Well honestly, the only thing my husband/dominant is picky about is hair length, he HATES short hair on women so I promised not to cut it although I trim, style and highlight it as I please.

However, I on the other hand, am picky about his diet, supplements and balancing his blood sugar and lowering his BP using a variety of herbals and minerals, not drugs and medications. I say turnabout is fair play, I listen to him, he listens to me. Respect is respect.

If he doesn't like something, I don't wear it.  I can't recall anything that he hasn't liked of mine.

He does prefer me in vanilla scents and he will also buy us perfume about once a year.

Mistress doesn't set any restrictions on my personal care products.  As long as I look good and smell good, She doesn't really care...LOL.  She has only one requirement that I do know of...Polo Blue cologne is a MUST for Her!  Who am I to disagree with Her?  If She did lay any restrictions on me, I'll happily obey Her.

When Master first saw me, He commented on my short hair and wondered if I was "married" to my hairstyle.  Unfortunately, I am and can't get a divorce because my hair is thick and naturally curly but not in a good way.  If I don't keep it cut quite short, it just gets bushy and unmanageable (sp?).  I explained this and He understood.  Thing is, as He got to know me and saw me with the hairstyle, He grew to love it and now wouldn't let me change it if I wanted to.  He loves running His fingers through it and enjoying how curly it is.  I am to keep it cut short and styled in the way that looks best and, though my hair is black but quickly turning silver, especially on top, I am not now nor will I ever be permittied to color/dye it.  He simply won't permit it.

As far as products, as some others have said, He pretty much leaves that to me but, if He doesn't like something, He would say.  So far, He likes the scents I use as well as the shampoo, soap, etc.  As long as I stay shaved, well groomed and smelling nice, He doesn't really take too much of an interest in what I use to accomplish that..............luci

Lol, you know Scooter does not care what personal products i use as long as they smell good. But i have that same intense dislike of what i refer to as toilet paper fuzzies. I do use toilet paper but i rinse those parts off really well at least 5 or 6 times a day.

I'm at the stage of life where I need to use both
Sir only says that I should buy decent brands of sanitary protection instead of the cheap stuff.
Otherwise the choice of cosmetics/toiletries is up to me
He does have His preference for the brand of toilet paper we use though

Master has alot of allergies and sensitivites, so he has to clear any scented things I use. I can use the brands I want otherwise. To make it easier on him I alternate from several different scented shampoos, body washes ect. However I only use one perfume or perfume oil and thats wisteria, Masters favorite.

My owner doesn't specify routines or products - overall he's always been happy with how I take care of myself.  He has scent allergies so I never wear perfume, and I make sure that I use the same body wash that he does, and try to stay away from hair products (like hair spray or mousse) as much as possible.

In terms of hair issues, he considers the arena of black women hair care way to complex to fully take any interest in - if I'm considering hair changes I check in with him and in general I know he prefers my hair longer rather than shorter.

He doesn't like me to wear clothes.  So when he's around, I take them off.

And he's sensitive to heavy scents, so I keep the perfume very light.

greetings mistoferin,

if he doesn't like something, i don't wear it again. he doesn't like most things that have a strong scent, including body lotions and body butters for the most part. i am pretty picky about what i use anyway...i usually use the same things all the time...neutrogena face products, redken shampoo and conditioner, st. ives whipped silk body lotion, and various shower gel things. i used to wear essential oil as perfume but stopped because of his sensitivity to smell. i'm pretty low-maintenance beyond that...i don't use many other bath/beauty products. i did start wearing makeup when i'm with him because he likes it...i wear mac usually.

respectfully,
annabelle.
