Reknown author of the book "The Loving Dominant" Famous american advice book on bdsm.

But just look at his profile and website.

Ron

And I must say, a fairly decent chap.

For those of you from other countries or who may be newer to the "scene", John Warren is one of the "founding fathers" of the lifestyle as we know it today. No that does not mean he invented kink. But he was one of the first to bring it into a positive public light with his writings. He has enlightened many people and helped to give an understanding that this really is ok.

Thank you. Somehow this reminded me of a young lady who looked up from the bondage table and said with a slight quaver in her voice, "You look a lot more frightening now."

[laugh]

Everytime I write I try to make it helpful to beginners. The book titles are The Loving Dominant, Safe Sane Consensual and Fun, Torquemada Killer, Murder at Roissy, and High Tech Toys. Sadly, because of the bankrupcy of the publisher, Torquemada Killer is out of print.

Good to see you here. Your work is one of the hallmarks of lifestyle literature and essential to any lifestyle library.

I've enjoyed your work but found it in places to feel too mainstream, more technical and focused on the needs of the submissive.

Have I misread you or do you feel that BDSM ought to be centered around the pleasure of the submissive? In what ways does making your submissive do things she doesn't enjoy for the sake of service play into your philosophy? Is it sadism at all if the dominant strives at all times to satisfy the submissive rather then purely focus on selfish pleasure?

What rights to selfish satisfaction does a dominant have in your view? If consent to ownership or domination implies consent to service of the dominants needs how does that reconcile with BDSM techniques that revolve around the intensification of the submissives pleasure and experience?

Is it unfair to characterize your work as assuming that the dominants pleasure lies inside the mastery of technique and the giving of pain and that the submissive is essentially a facilitator for those events/activities/expressions?

I nearly forgot. What was your take on Baldwins "Slavecraft"?

Angry.

Well, you or someone who has it could look on the back cover of The Loving Dominant. Of course, that's the same picture I use on my profile. How about I put a picture with this post that hasn't been put anywhere online outside of private email exchanges.

As I tried to make clear in the book, it was my outlook and quite often I would point out that others could and would disagree with me. That's the task of an author. As it's repeatedly stated, I can only write clearly from my own point of view. Those who have others are welcome to take pen in hand and many have.
