Status: offline 		about a sub/slave who acts bratty on purpose or who tries to get in trouble on purpose? Do You ever feel that they are in more control than You are when they do this?

Status: offline 		if getting punished is what the sub or slave wants then the Dominant would be rewarding the sub/slave by punishing them....take a note from dog training and ignore the behavior you don't like...but because you are dealing with a human being, figure out why they are acting like that if you don't like the behavior...offer them an alternative...reward the behavior you do like....

I tend to agree with this post.  I don't tolerate brats.  IMO, they are manipulating and annoying.

and if the behavior was something new in a 5 year relationship? i don't throw away people...sometimes the behaivor is indicative of something deeper going on...and i agree, the behavior is not acceptable...but a single act or a single series of acts is not all there is to a person....

we just like to keep things interesting.

Understandable.
 
But I'm not sure I would want to be with someone that dealt with her troubled times in a bratty manner. We all act wrongly, at one time or another, and make mistakes, and say shitty things. I'm just not necessarily seeing that in the same category as "bratty", although it could be.

Yes, laurell, and "bratty" is different, for different folks. Personally, what I find bratty isn't something I am tolerant of.  Well said.

Status: offline 		Why do you care what works for other subs? If they like this, and their partner likes this, then who are you to say they are more trouble than they're worth?

If the sub in question is a new one added to your relationship and she's very different from you, then that's what he wants in her, but not in you. Accept it or not. If it's just someone you know who is different than you, then again I ask why you care so much about other people's relationships.

A lot of people do enjoy that "you've been a naughty girl and need to be punished". They have every right to enjoy what they enjoy.

Yes, or at least attempting to be.  -And that's why I don't put up with it in my relationships.

As I've said many times:  playfulness I very much enjoy, but brattiness I do not waste time with.

Status: offline 		 If I am choosing give what they desire through acts of negative attention, than I would say that I am giving them control at the time. If it is new behavior, certainly something needs to be addressed on a deeper level. If it is not, then we have never reached a point of a relationship. I do not do negative attention.
