I've always tried to make time for my hobbies, I think it's important to have something that is just yours. I have gotten more into the knitting this week, probably because it involves keeping my hands moving. I've made a point to sit down and work on something when it starts to get bad. I think over the weekend I'll be doing a fair bit of reading, it's about time I finished a couple of books.

For now, I think I'm going to head to bed.

Thank you everyone for the support and tips.

oh yeah, another thing I've been doing is exercise -- we have a stepper and missfit has been using it for years, but not me, so I started.  Now I'm up to 7+ miles every other day on that, and I bought a few weights and lift those in a few exercises for my arms shoulders back and chest every day.  The world seems like a new place!  17 days into the rest of my life ;)

I hope this helps, my advice is to hunt some Buffalo or Bison, whichever comes first.
Strangle 'em with your bare hands.

You know.. we should start a new thread.  About giving up vices.  Signee's would have to report to the thread on a regular basis (say, daily at first?  then weekly?) on their progress and such.

I wonder if that'd be fair motivation.

I've been jonesin' for some tight fresh pussy......Seems like there is a substantial shortage of this primo shit out here on CM. Remember the pussy glut of '94? Those were the days.

Quitting smoking sux holes. It was incredibly hard for me. I quit once for 11 years and then started again and smoked for more than another decade. I had my first puff when I was two. I began smoking in grade four and was smoking in the house in front of my folks by grade seven. (12 years old)

One reason quitting is so hard is that when you smoke, you set up a synapse of blood flow into your brain. So you need to smoke to keep the blood flowing into your brain like that and also explains why it can feel so good to take a big ol drag from a fag. When you stop smoking the synapse stops and you literally die in a way. It makes it so very hard to get through the quitting phase.

American Spirits dont have the chemical that most of them do so if you still smoke that would be a great brand to get onto.

Getting through the first three months is the hardest. I quit this time around around 7-8 years ago and I am so glad I am done with it.

Tell the one you serve that you have an uncontrolable senstation to suck on something. After all, smoke products aren't the only things that get sucked. You can take your mind off ciggs by putting your lips around something else.

i'll tell you what on this.at the start of the new year which isn't that long off now, there is an  agreement between my Lord,my Mistress and myself that i quit smoking.i know it's not easy i have tried serveral times and am hoping this time it will be a success.

what i am saying is this.in time the smell will slowly go away.i know from trying before.but think of the benfits that come with it.just the expense itself is worth quitting.with my quitting date looming over me i feel more and more guilty every time i ask to go outside and have one,i know it dissapoints them that i smoke.

so let me offer you this, since as i said i am gettting to the quitting date you need to talk or need some shread of support in your quitting as well, feel free to post.

Ooops, I was falling asleep last night and realized I mixed my dates up with another big event in my life. I havent quit 7-8 years at all this go round. No I have quit 3 years.

While I am here I will add that sucking on something is very good. All the nerve endings culminate in the mouth area so it is great to stimulate your entire nervous system by sucking, it helps to keep you feeling vibrant and alive.

I'm actually doing pretty good. I've made it to day seven, and I'm pretty damn proud of myself. It does help that over the weekend we all had the flu. Being that sick killed any cravings I may have had.

I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm stronger than I think I am, and I can do this.

Thank you for all the support.

xx

Hi child of the shadow,

I started smoking after having quit for about 10 years, and smoked for another ten years.  Last May 8 I had my last cigarette just before going in to get a teeth cleaning.  The tsk tsks of my dentist before my previous cleaning, and the fact that I was charged double, made me decide to quit.  Quitting tobacco is said to be as hard as quittinig heroin ... pamper yourself and recognize that you are in a very fragile state just now ... and if your head feels like it's floating away, it's normal ...

OH MY GAWD!

I am feening so bad right now. I live with my daughter and she has a 5 year old boy. She mentioned that she was quitting on the 1st and I said cool, I'll quit with you... so I am going outta my mind. Every night, I ask her to bring me a couple from someone there at work (she works in a bar as a bartender, nice club) and  has been for me...but tonight, I am ultra freaking...

ARRGH! I have had a few pokes here and there, and yesterday I even bought a pack. She has not smiked a whole cig yet, (so she says), but has been hitting on 'em. I want to be supportive of her... and I really DO want to quit.

I wish I had a big cock to suck on, I would do it.
I have no cock to fill that "void" ARRrrgGH...
So... I really don't wanna suck my thumb :P

I know I can do this.

god bless us one and all!

I,m a hypnotist, I can trance you to find something else to do when the craving hits.

Or you can just take something up, either way.

Creatrix, you can do it. I'm on day 28 of not smoking. When I go to the doctor later in the week, they'll change my file to say "non-smoker", I can't wait.

It hasn't been easy, and I've been really suffering from side effects from the champix/chantix in the last week. I've not slept properly in a week (managed a whole two hours last night and it was wonderful), but it's worth it. I'd rather suffer through not so nice side effects than start smoking again.

Once you get over the initial withdrawals you'll be fine. I'm not sure how long the withdrawals will last and it will vary from person to person. Once the withdrawals have been worked through, it's time to break the habit. Last year my mother was diagnosed with emphysema which was directly caused by her smoking and still she refuses to give up, I did some research into the chemicals put into those neatly packaged sticks of poison and was shocked to find manufacturers deliberately put carbon monoxide into them. So work at changing your perception of seeing them as something desirable, into the poisonous substances they are. Also, if you have any friends that still smoke, get them to put their cigarette butts into a jar until it is half full, add a little water - shake then sniff. Then every time you get a craving for a cigarette take the lid off that jar and sniff. Hopefully it'll turn your stomach enough so that you never want to inhale another. Two friends of mine that gave up smoking tried that method - they never smoked again or had the desire to.
